iPhone 4s Battery Life?

My iPhone 4s battery seems terrible! Almost equivalent to my 3GS and it's terrible battery life. When I got my iPhone yesterday and restored from backup I noticed nothing really changed with minimal usage and standby! Is this normal or should I consider setting it up as a new phone because maybe something is running in the background that's causing it to drop a percentage every few minutes under light usage? Input would be great!

Another way to prolong your iphone battery life is to properly turn off every applications on your iphone after use. The best way to turn off an application is by double cliking the home button, then press and hold the minus sign to turn it off. Pressing the home button once does not turn off an application completely and it might still be connected to your server therby draining your battery. Also turn off bluetooth and location services when not in use. Hope this helps

Ace,

Your info is useless as you've already admitted that you switch the phone to the airplane mode for many hours per day. For the vast majority of users, this is not an acceptable strategy. Personally, while I don't relish the thought of late night phone calls, when you have elederly family members, it is a necessity.

If you leave it in Airplane Mode all the time, it'll literally last for weeks! So what point are you trying to make, other than deceiving the rest of us? Please explain.

So DevilMark, I have to ask........ Why did you spend hundreds of dollars on an iPhone?

I'm not attempting to make any point at all. I was asked to send in a

screen shot, and I did.

As for Airplane mode being ON, I do that seven hours each night. I don't

want calls during the night and don't take them if they come in. My parents

are elderly too, but they're also dead. It makes no sense for me to use up

the battery at night if the phone definitely will not be used.

I'm sorry if my little experiment has angered you. I apologize.

Angered me? Hardly..... It is unfortunate, however, that you post sketchy information that may lead newbies and the uninformed, who may read what you post and assume that these results are normal, with typical usage patterns.

There is no reason for someone to come in here and post 8 day battery life results, with no additional explanation of how it was accomplished. Especially when so many users in here, with normal usage patterns, are struggling have their batteries last 24 hours!

Your motives for posting what you did are questionable. What was the point? It certainly wasn't to help anyone out who is having problems.

May 15, 2012 5:17 AM in response to Jameson!

that's why im backing up his post. im always explaining how he get the 8days.stand by. and that is why im experimenting it.lol. you dont get ace point. actually im not really relaying to the 8hrs and 8days usage as full potential usage of the phone daily. im only experimenting for me or to other to know more about why ace reach 8days. me my self never did 8days standby. so im at trying stage. so dont be so offensive about it. to tell you jameson may real usage of the phone get me only 18-23hours standby and 4-6hrs usage only. where as the real usage i only get was 3-4straight HRS., ive been also experimenting dif solution. but i will not recommend it to others specially like u who want to used alot of the features of the phone.lol we where in dif. taste. dif. expirences. and so as Diff. OPINIONS.

Nobody has asked me how I do what I do. I've been labeled a 'Troll', advised that I am

'lying', then called a clown. I have been accused of surreptiously making USB connections

to extend battery life. The above screen shot shows that is not the case.

Now my "motives" for posting are being called into question. My motive originally was

to find a solution to my rapid battery discharge. When I found some success, with the

kind aid of some posters here, I shared some of what I had learned.

It's not surprising that some people who have had more success with their iPhone 4s

batteries are not particularly interested in sharing what they've learned.

Anger always gets in the way of learning.
