One thing that I do that helps a lot is to reset my phone every morning. I find that some programs can still run in the background with no real way of closing them. Without doing a reset you can have a bunch of programs running and drawing down on power, sometimes extremely quickly.
For example I use a program Darwin Chamber as a White Noise background for my room when I'm sleeping. Simply hitting pause and closing the program doesn't seem to shut it down. The little play arrow stays on in the task bar.
Another program I use is joggy coach, ... it tracks my runs ect via GPS. Only problem is when I'm done my run and shut it down, it seems to still be using the GPS to track me.
If I notice my phone batter wearing down by mid day to early afternoon, I reset it, usually helps a fair bit until it gets loaded down with running programs again.
Hope that helps some, but I still agree that the battery wears down very quickly. I can handle once a night charging but even that is a bit crazy.
