Q: iPhone 4s Battery Life?

My iPhone 4s battery seems terrible! Almost equivalent to my 3GS and it's terrible battery life. When I got my iPhone yesterday and restored from backup I noticed nothing really changed with minimal usage and standby! Is this normal or should I consider setting it up as a new phone because maybe something is running in the background that's causing it to drop a percentage every few minutes under light usage? Input would be great!

A lot of the time the phantom usage is due to corrput email accts or corrupt network settings. Maybe reset network settings and/or delete your email accts, reboot the phone then add email accts back.

I've deleted all e-mail accounts and reseting network settings doesn't fix the problem...right now I am patiently waiting for the update...Will decide after that if the phone stays or goes...

That's the problem with returning the handset - you get a refurbished rather than a new one.

To my mind, if I return a faulty product I want a new replacement, not one that's been returned by someone else as being faulty and then repaired.

    i'm thinking the same way...

my last charge: (at 1% battery)

    usage: 4 hours 40 minutes

    standby: 1 day 5 hours

that's not good at all! and the funny thing is that this is my 2nd iPhone 4S. Got replaced with a NEW one. Still doesn't work... I am 22 years old, and I bougth my phone from my own money, worked hard for it... I paid 800 dollars to have a nokia 3310. (we need to switch off everything to save battery life)

    shame on apple.

I guess you did a full restore as well? And did not restore a backup but set up as new? The only other option for now may be an exchange of the unit. Maybe want to do that while you still have time to return it if you want to.

Yeah except for since they just came out, it wont be older than what you have hopefully. Plus they figure you are returning a "used" one not a new one. Sorta right there too. I would say there should be some time frame 30-60 days maybe that should be new exchange then after that maybe refurb for the remainder of your warranty. That would be fair. Of course if you have a new one that doesnt work and get a like new one that does.........well guess thats better.

What sort of usage is the  4 + hours? Not quite a 3310 as you can do a lot of things with the phone. Looks like you can go more than a day at least. Guessing here that you have run the reset and battery calibrate etc thats posted all over the place? Those 2 items help a lot. If you havent certainly I would try that. Your usage dont look that bad depending on what kind of usage. Folks here with the "battery bug" cannot get through a day without charging again. Also if your device is brand new it will get better after a few recharges and drains.

This would  all be very hilarious if it were not for the fact we all spent big money for these faulty phones. You have a few Apple worshipers on here wanting you to reset all this and that turn all this off and use your phone as a paper weight and be happy so you can say I have an IPhone 4s4. If this had been any other companies problem there would be suit after suit popping up for knowingly selling faulty products. Apple doesn't even have the common courtesy to admit he error of their ways and offer a solution, a buy back , whatever. But no they remain silent hoping the 5 will come out soon and they can sell millions more.  I know of no one who buys a phone hoping they have to turn every function off to get through the day with it. After 669 pages of complaints on here and numerous other sites its evident Apple could care less and you have a few mindless trolls who are glad to turn everything off so they can carry around the newest phone Again PT Barnum was right. Return your phones while you can get your money and run...
