2nd iPhone 4S, Black 32gb AT&T
First was preordered & received day 1, swapped out for a new one a few days later.
Had an iPhone 3G & 4 prior, never had battery life this bad. The iPhone 4 was running iOS 5GM as well right before I sold it, so I'm fairly confident it's not the entire iOS to blame but a combination of things.
I've tried running the phone with a lot of things disabled, but went back to running it exactly as I had my iPhone 4 prior to the upgrade to the 4S to get a true comparison since I have the same apps and settings and didn't have this battery life issue with the 4.
- Tried restoring as new phone, resets, resetting network settings, you name it
- Deleting & re-adding back email addresses (2, an iCloud & an Exchange)
- Disabling miscellaneous notifications from 3rd party apps
- Turned off Ping, disabled location settings for iAds, diagnostics, time zone
- Have WiFi & Bluetooth on
- Tried using both WiFi sync to my iMac as well as iCloud
- Running Push on iCloud & Exchange. Tried running Fetch every 15, didn't help really. Back to running Push on iCloud but Fetch every 15 on Exchange
What's interesting is I found a couple odd things occuring. One is when I do a hard reset that the phone loses track of the usage stats, they simply go to dashed lines.
Another is in the Diagnostics, I have TONS of error messages! I literally have to fling my finger as fast as possible to scroll down and it takes a few seconds to go through them all to get to the bottom. Many are app crashes, memory crashes, and a ton of Bluetooth disconnects.
I'd be happy to speak with someone and provide as much information as they'd like to get from me. I'd be happy to send screenshots as well!
