Q: iPhone 4s Battery Life?

My iPhone 4s battery seems terrible! Almost equivalent to my 3GS and it's terrible battery life. When I got my iPhone yesterday and restored from backup I noticed nothing really changed with minimal usage and standby! Is this normal or should I consider setting it up as a new phone because maybe something is running in the background that's causing it to drop a percentage every few minutes under light usage? Input would be great!

Apple has turned its back on everyone for a profit Same old story I purchased new 4s Friday set it up like everyone said even was stupid enough to turn all the crap off charged it all night Friday, Saturday at 9 am had 100% at 11:30 am after no calls  or anything had 66% buy 3:55pm was at 27% at 5:15 it was a zero and shut down. During this time I had one call of 10 min and 3 text messages charged it over night Saturday was at 100% Sunday morning, sent 4 texts and 2 calls of 8 min total by 4:15 dead no battery life. Monday it was at 100% at 6 am by 6:12 PM dead and I had not used it all day just was on sitting on my desk. There is no fix these are bad phones period. Apple still sales them as someone on here said knowing the problem and laugh all the way to the bank. Are we all fools for even trying the new 4s? Mine is going back tomorrow morning and I will own something that I know will stay charged. Also the people on here that are happy to charge them every 4 hours how long do you expect the battery to last with such frequent charging?

Complete 10 full discharge/charge cycles, then come back to report how it is going.

NO way this POS is going back tomorrow. Not my job to turn everything off and keep discharging the battery Had Apple not made a faulty product from the beginning No one would have a problem and they are still selling them and could care less that the consumer is getting the shaft....

You don't have the permission to say bad things about Apple. My iphone 4s lasts 2 days and it is a wonderful phone. Just do some full discharge/charge cycles and you will be allright.

So they are not doing anything about this?

I was not aware that you are privvy to the inner workings of Apple engineering and iOS.

Apple still sales them as someone on here said knowing the problem and laugh all the way to the bank.

But if problems do not get fixed, there will be no sales to laugh all the way to the bank.

So you think this is simply Apple trying to get the last few $$$ they can before they fold as a company?

and you may want to learn to use correct/proper punctuation and spelling. Makes a post much more readable and not seem simply a rant by a 14 year old.

I have the same issues. The battery life is just terrible. I regret buying the 4S.

my iPhone 4s had no issues with ios5.01 and lasted for 2-3 days normal use. Over the last wkend I decided to sync it to my computer to update music and after that the battery got drastically worse. I lose around 4-5% per hour idle and I have tried all methods I was told on the forums such as system restore, resetting the settings, deleted email account and re-adding it.  when my phone dies and i recharge it, the recharge to 100% is really fast. I'm not sure what is wrong. If anyone has a solution to this, that would be great.  My old iPhone 3GS lasts longer idle than my new phone now!

photo.PNGmail.png My IPhone battery Life is pretty good. I was on the phone for 3-4hours, one hour of Facetime.. and texting and browsing and quite a bit of fruit Ninja.. As you can see the battery is still at 12%... Location Services, Siri, Wifi everything switched on! Those Games do suck up a lot of Juice.. buts its pretty impressive considering stand by is more than 24hours!

"Impressive" would be getting close to the advertised 200 hour standby time. Not ~10% of it.

True, you've got lots of things "on" but so does every other average user. It would be good if Apple either revised their 200 hour figure to be more realistic. Or admitted there's an issue with the 4S/iOS 5 that means that the battery drains unacceptably.

Actually there are many users reporting losing 0.5% per hour overnight on standby (4% loss in 8 hours), that's equivalent to the 200 hour standby time claimed by Apple.

don't bother looking for a solution if you have tried everything else, I'd suggest you simply taking your phone to a local Apple store and they will exchange it for you. Not every iphone is made the same, you probably have one with a bad battery.
