Q: iPhone 4s Battery Life?

My iPhone 4s battery seems terrible! Almost equivalent to my 3GS and it's terrible battery life. When I got my iPhone yesterday and restored from backup I noticed nothing really changed with minimal usage and standby! Is this normal or should I consider setting it up as a new phone because maybe something is running in the background that's causing it to drop a percentage every few minutes under light usage? Input would be great!

Well....I want my phone to be at my command...Not me at my phones command.... Anyway, what I meant was that whole drain was caused by the network....When there is no network or less network, phone starts communicating with the towers for higher signal strenght.....Antenna takes a lot of battery and during this...So, I just guess this is just one among many causes for battery drain....

hurray ... i think my problem is solved. this problem is due to a bug in video card driver. Seems because of this bug, even in stand-by mode, video card  consumes cpu and as a result, battery life is less. The solution is very simple. I mean this is not a solution but a workaround.

phone's battery % is still the same even after 4 hrs (3hrs with services off + 1 hrs with all services on). This was certainly not the case before.

Battery life is so bad. Look at this image:

I haven't even used it for half an hour and it already lost 4% of its battery life. ***?!

Did you skip your math classes in school? At that rate you would get 12.5 hours of use! And you're complaining?

6% battery drain with 30 minutes of usage is NOT crazy.mthat would work out to  8.33 hours of usage before the battery reached 0%. Depending on what you used the iPhone for during those 30 minutes, that OSS admirable artery performance. If, on the other hand, you were only listening to music during that time or if, in fact. You had no usage, then I withdraw my comments.

a copy of my post from my thread:

All of my issues are gone. My 4S is now as it should be.

Can use it now for at least 3 days before I have to re-charge it. Unbelievable great feeling after that mess the last month's!

    What I did?

I have simply exchanged it in the Apple Store.

The first one I've got from the apple store was again a broken one. So Apple told me to restore it and set as a new iPhone (possible corrupt data in backup...etc). The problems remains.

I did another apointment and received again a new 4S. Directly installed backup from icloud in the shop (thanks to free wifi) and it runs without phantom usage. Even all my SIM-Card problems are gone.

There are some bad iPhones on the market with faulty logic boards. No update will help to fix this.

I can just advise everyone with battery problems to exchange the iPhone until you get a good one.

My current iPhone has the code MD235b and when I remember correctly, the faulty ones had both MD235.

Charged it now 3 times. Battery life is still increasing. Last charge holds for 3 days.

Exactly what happens to me. No soft/hard reset solves it...

Again, mnemonics did not state this was phantom usage. He said he "didn't even use it for half an hour." So, he used it for 22 minutes and experienced 4% battery discharge. This is excellent battery performance. Would equal 9.166 hours of usage before battery reaches 0%.

ClayG - no he didn't, about that you are right. But for him to complaint, I assume that he didn't use the phone.

My iPhone, as we speak, haas been in standby for 28minutes and already shows 20minutes of usage time - bettery % is 98%...

Yesterday, the phone lasted (about) 23hours and showed an amazing 17hours of usage time (eventhough I've used it only for about 1hour/ 1h and a half - few phone calls, 2 text messages and maybe 20minutes of web surginf on 3G)!

WOW, my iPhone lasts 23hours if I use it for 17hours straight.........

There is something really wrong with this, and no matter what I do, I can't stop it!

I'm waiting for the 5.1 before returning it to the store...

Exactly! I haven't used my phone at all. Eveything is off, location services, brightness at 20%, no background apps running, no notifications, icloud off except "Find my iPhone", and I lost over 10% overnight (6 hours of standy). As soon as I started using it it went down an additional 10%. I'm under 50% now and it just keeps going down really fast.

Something I've noticed, I have push off on my email, it is supposed to fetch every hour, but the thing stills works as it push is activated. I test it thoroughly and email is still immediatly pushed! Anybody else experiencing this?
