Q: iPhone 4s Battery Life?

My iPhone 4s battery seems terrible! Almost equivalent to my 3GS and it's terrible battery life. When I got my iPhone yesterday and restored from backup I noticed nothing really changed with minimal usage and standby! Is this normal or should I consider setting it up as a new phone because maybe something is running in the background that's causing it to drop a percentage every few minutes under light usage? Input would be great!

I too have problems with the battery life.  I have used minimum applications and made sure that none were running in the background.  I have switched off Siri, wifi and bluetooth - made no difference. I did not restore my contacts from google nor icloud also. My battery is draining aprox 15% per hour when in standby mode.  There is no way I am getting 200 hours - lucky to get 24.  It is my 1st iphone too and right now unless Apple find a solution soon I intend to return my phone (only had it delivered on 26th) and get something else - most likely the Galaxy.  On top of that my internet is slow to load compared with other models - huh?!?!?!?!?! These are really major issues as I got a 64GB phone specifically so that I can use all these ''incredible'' new features.  To have them turned off as I am worried my battery will die is ridiculous.  Plus my loud speak is not loud!  Barely audible.   For £699 (plus the apple care on top) I really think that my money would have been better spent elsewhere.

iTunes wifi sync automatically syncs with iTunes on your computer when your iPhone is plugged in to power and connected to wifi. Since it has to be charging, it shouldnt have any affect on battery life..

I'm very sad ... but, after another unacceptable day with the phone -- and this being the close of the 14-day window -- I just requested a return from the Apple Online Store.

I have a similar issue to everyone else.  My battery on my iPhone 4s drains very quickly most of the time.  Although, once in a while it drains at a more reasonable pace.  I use my phone very lightly and only write a few emails and download a couple apps during the day and the battery drains down to 40% most of the time.  I have calibrated the battery by draining it completely down twice and I have restored the phone twice, but neither has completely fixed the battery issues.

Since I bought it, my 4S has had absolutely awful battery life. I've turned my brightness almost all the way down with Auto-Brightness on, almost all iCloud syncing off (only find my phone and email syncing on), manage my open applications incessantly, and barely use Siri. I've used no more services or applications than I did with my iPhone 4 (also on iOS 5), and yet my battery life on the 4S isn't even half of what it was on my 4. Probably not even a third.  When I left work at 5PM today, I had 100% battery life.  With light use, in 5 hours my battery dropped by 80% - down to 20% remaining.  I would guesstimate that I average 15-20% battery loss per hour.

I plan on exchanging my phone next time I get to an Apple Store, as I also have back lights bleeding through my screen, but I am pessimistic that the replacement will have equally bad battery life.  This is my 4th generation of iPhone, and this phone has by far the worst battery life of any that I've owned. Multiple restores have not improved the situation. This is terrible.

My stats aren't so bad, if I was actually using the phone to browse the web over 3G regularly. Trying to figure out if I have a problem.

Took off @ ~8am PST. It is not 8:23.

    55% Battery Left

    Usage - 2 hours, 51 minutes

    Standby - 11 hours, 39 minutes

    55 minutes of call time

Mostly texting... only 162 mb downloaded and 6-7mb uploaded.

Hence this could be a bug, if my phone is not charging and opens itunes (and synchs) doesn't this seem a bit odd?

Add me to the list.  I am finding that my battery seems to be running down nearly twice as fast.  It used to be at the end of the day I'd still have close to 60% battery life.  Now I am closer to 30%.  I sure hope they address this, because this is NOT what they claimed.  Don't get me wrong, I love my new 4S but I am definitely shocked by the shorter battery life.  Apple?

Guess I'm wondering whether I have a "problem" or if the battery life is just not that good...

I've tried everything I found on the web to improve the performance of my iphone 4s battery. I turn off the Bluetooth, wi-fi, notifications, location services, siri. I reset the network,  I take to the apple store and they reset to factory setting, and the battery still drain quickly.
