Q: iPhone 4s Battery Life?

My iPhone 4s battery seems terrible! Almost equivalent to my 3GS and it's terrible battery life. When I got my iPhone yesterday and restored from backup I noticed nothing really changed with minimal usage and standby! Is this normal or should I consider setting it up as a new phone because maybe something is running in the background that's causing it to drop a percentage every few minutes under light usage? Input would be great!

Still no solution and Apple still haven't broken their silence yet regarding the iPhone 4S battery issue.

Fix in beta, as Apple announced yesterday, 2 November.

    Let me ask one question:

Does anyone have developer access to install the BETA and let us know about the results with the battery?

If someone has please send some news to us

    TIA

    All the best

iOS 5.0.1 works a little bit. It does NOT fix the battery drain problem, it slows it down a little bit. On 5.0 I was losing 4/5% every 10mins, Now I lose 1-2% every 20-25minutes on standby but only 10-15mins If I'm using the phone for anything. It is not good as iOS 4 but it's maybe 30-40% better than it was

I found my new 4S batter was draining faster than I expected, but I hadn't had the time to fiddle with it.  About a week ago I let it drain all the way to zero, charged it back to full overnight, and ever since the battery has behaved much more like I expected it - at the very least better than the 3GS I replaced with it.

No idea if this might work for anyone else, but it solved my problem!

After seeing your post I checked my usage. It has been less than 3 hours since my last full charge and I am showing 1 hour 52 minutes standby and 56 minutes usage! I have only used it less than 15 minutes to check a couple of emails and look at some headlines. My battery has gone down 13% in this time. I have had to recharge by 6 pm each day with only minimal usage.

Oddly, though, my wife has the same model 4s, the same apps, same settings and uses her's in a similar way to what I do, BUT her battery charge lasted 3 days.

I'm experiencing the same problems with battery. I've disabled the main things people have mentioned all over the web, and it's not much help to be honest.

I need my phone to push things to me. I would like to use Siri, and all the other fairly useful things that an iPhone is all about. That's the whole point, really.

Looking forward to the fix. #fingerscrossed

I had same issue everyone else is experience.  Battery drains at a rate of about 15 to 20% every 6 hours with light usage.  Something interseting happened that might be worth trying.  I resynched last night using a hard wired synch with iTunes for the first time since initial startup (no wi-fi synch) and my battery is holding strong at 100% 2 hours into the day.  I didn't do anything different.  Same apps are running (wi-fi) connection at work, e-mail client is persistent.  Its as if the battery indicator may not be functioning properly.  Usually two hours into the day i am already at 92%.  Someone give a try and see if they get same result.

My iphone 4S just got TOTALY DEAD....it was 70% battery last time I touched it.Last time full charged at 8 am.

I am at work not much usage. Before an hour checked text message on it and next time when I touch it before half hour, it was DEAD.

Doesn’t react on charging either on the computer or in electricity!!! Pretty weird, I had it for 6 days with constant fast battery drain!

    Thisproduct suck so far!

My battery life was not great the first day I used it. Dropping 1%+ on standby and then dropping rapidly on phone calls. I deleted Mail from my iphone.

So I had about 60% remaining for day#2. I used Maps, some phone calls and some text messages. I had 32% remaining by night time. I wanted to drain the battery, so I turned everything on (Location, GPS, Brightness full, notifications..). I started watching a movie on netflix through my iPhone and to my surprise, it took no less than 2 hours to completely drain out. During this time I added my Mail back on.

I think the trick is to completely drain the battery and recharge it as it sets the memory for the battery. I am sure there is a software fix coming along but there are things you could do to improve it currently for optimization. Somehow I feel the issue is linked to the new antenna design + Contacts --> iCloud --> Mail synchorinization. All said and done, I love Apple and am sure Apple will provide 5.0.1 SOON
