Q: iPhone 4s Battery Life?

My iPhone 4s battery seems terrible! Almost equivalent to my 3GS and it's terrible battery life. When I got my iPhone yesterday and restored from backup I noticed nothing really changed with minimal usage and standby! Is this normal or should I consider setting it up as a new phone because maybe something is running in the background that's causing it to drop a percentage every few minutes under light usage? Input would be great!

It's now over an hour later and I did end up dropping down to 93%, continuing with heavy texting and E-mailing, and one 10-minute phone call. Still a bit too much of a drop, but it's looking like the drain is about 1/4 of what it was prior to installing 501beta2. I'm going to run the battery down and do a full cycle charge overnight - will check back in with my results around mid-day tomorrow.

Note: for the record, my previous battery loss was with all the options turned off. This is with almost everything turned ON, including almost all notifications, location services, raise-to-speak and iCloud. I do however still have all of my E-mail accounts set to manual.

sudo apt-get install adulthood && apt-get remove cheerleaders

The forum is so "quiet". It's a great strategy to charge 100$ and impose an NDA for a beta fix. Pretty sure everyone here shed the cash and then shut up. The phone ends up costing almost a grand lollll. Is it 100$ for life or per year as I can see where this is heading lolll?

So you dropped 3% in 1 hour using 3G internet, texting and making a 10 min call... well, at that rate with similar usage that would yield 30 hours. So it's quite possible Apple finally got a hold of it.

    Good luck.

Seiously, why do non-apple users troll these boards?  What is your function here?

I've had the same problem while plugging it in over night (at least 10-12 hours) and it not fully charging. It ends up charging to either 92% or 96%. It's not ever day, but it's sure odd to see it!

The function would be catharsis, consumer advocacy, fostering competition, curiosity, public health issues, using deductive reasoning and creativity in helping support, demonstrating what it is to have a "spine" and discussing trends in the smartphone industry - and laughing lollll . Overall elevating your thinking, and I don't see how that is akin to "trolling".

Might I ask what is your function here, aside from your last comment?

Clicking on my name will allow you to sample each of those contributions through my many posts. Good elevation!

p.s. I'm writing this on  OSX 10.4 on a 700mhz Emac so technically I am an Apple user.

p.p.s It takes more than slapstick remarks to drain my battery!

I  bought 3 iphone 4s together from verizon  store.. 2 phones was working fine and one was having battery problem.. it was keep draining too fast. I called verizon they told me they wil send me replacement phone.

next day i noticed problem in my second iphone 4s..  caller id of iphone 4s was not working. i called again verizon to replace my second phone as well. They placed the new order for 2nd phone replacement as well.

i recived 2 new iphone 4s replaced. 3 days ago. i activated both of them... One was working fine..

second phone battery was draining way faster than my first iphone.. and it was not even charging properly.

When i plug it in  it would charge for few minutes then stop then again starts charging

i called apple last night.. they said they wil send me replacement again due to charging problem.

i have 3 iphone 4s and  i noticed battery issue is not on every iphone 4s.. and it cant be true that software problem is causing battery drainage.. my brohter using iphone 4s all day long with webbrowsing and everything on and his battery is very good. but on other hand my battery on first iphoen 4s was draining like 10 % every half hour.. and replaced i phone 4s its draining  about 30 % every 45 minutes. so iif there is software issue everyone would be having problem not only limited  people

Also one thing i noticed  that iphone 4s gets preety hot from the back side i dont know battery is gettting hotter or whats going on...

Now waiting for my iphone 4s replacement again ..i wil se how the new iphone 4s replacement works for me ... Hopefully it wont have any problem
