Q: iPhone 4s Battery Life?

My iPhone 4s battery seems terrible! Almost equivalent to my 3GS and it's terrible battery life. When I got my iPhone yesterday and restored from backup I noticed nothing really changed with minimal usage and standby! Is this normal or should I consider setting it up as a new phone because maybe something is running in the background that's causing it to drop a percentage every few minutes under light usage? Input would be great!

I wasn't having a problem until I did the update, now my battery is going down like a car off a bridge.  Is it possible to undo the update?

Yes, download the ipsw file for 5.0 (http://osxdaily.com/2011/10/12/ios-5-download-available/) and if you're on a Mac do an Option-Click on the 'Restore' button in iTunes and browse to the ipsw file you downloaded. Then you can restore your data from a backup. (If you're on a PC it's either Ctrl-Click or Alt-Click, I'm not sure which.

**Be sure to backup your iPhone thorugh iTunes first**. Everything will be deleted when you restore to iOS 5.0.

Over the last week or so, I have been keeping up on the batter issue but have not had a problem with my phone. Last night I updated to 5.01. Since unplugging my phone this morning my batter life has declined by 21%. It's been unplugged for 2 hours with moderate use. This must be what people were experiencing.

Apple - How could you send out this update to fix user issues only to create more. I'm a little perplexed. Trying to stay in the news? Anyhow, please advise or please give me 5.0 back; I was fine before.

After reading the posts, I decided to pass on this update that was just pushed out.  One quesiton I haven't seen asked.

When Apple pushed out the update, did they list the items that they were fixing?  If so, where can I find this information?

There is a lot more bugs with this update than previous versions.

Updated to 5.0.1, on 3GS it is WORSE than before, phone was on 64% as left home today, left the phone at home, not used, no wi-fi on nothing, 3G turned off in airplane mode, came home, it was on 29%!

So come on Apple, do not tell us that this is a minorty, this aint the first time you've had issues, do you not test the software before you release or are we all just your beta testers.

This is also happening on my GF iPod.

I have a HTC wildfire, left that with it in airplane mode at 100%, guess what....was on 100% when i got home!!

Also phone has now decided to restart itself every so often, so well done Apple 'If you aint got a iproduct then you aint wasted your hard earned cash on a dud product'

At least other smartphone makers allow the PERSONS that have BOUGHT the phone to take the battery out and replace as batteries do deteriorate over time, so come on Apple please allow us to do this.

I certatily dont think android copied apple, i think its the other way round.

How many battery issues have i had with my HTC = 0

    Antenna issues = 0

Restarting of the phone = 0

When my contract ends i will defo moved to a newer android based phone, like a samsung, HTC or Motarola. Might even try out a WinMo phone, they seem more reliable, lets leave the world of iProducts....Apple will end up losing a lot of users because of how many issues they have.

Blackberry services (i have one of these for work) went down for a few days but really how many issues do they really have compared to Apple??

APPLE, please contact me.  I have updated to 5.01 and my battery life is WORSE.  My pre-order 4S is on Verizon and was fully charged at 5am, now only after an hour of use (checking some email, a little texting and surfing and two short phone calls less then2 minutes each) my phone is down to 81% at 1PM.  This can't be right.  Standby time says 4 hours and 30 minutes.  How can I lose 20% using my phone fo ronly an hour?  I didn't watch any video, games or anything.  Please call me or I will contact you on Tuesday when I am off.

I have just set everything to Fetch (every 15 mins) and turned off iCloud and will back up once a week manually.

Re-charging up fully now and going to see if my Batt improves, if it does, then that is a small price to pay !!!!

Coul people post their Average %Drop per Hour.... this would be interesting!

Hard reset and restore have been mentioned earlier. Neither make any difference on my devices.
