Q: iPhone 4s Battery Life?

My iPhone 4s battery seems terrible! Almost equivalent to my 3GS and it's terrible battery life. When I got my iPhone yesterday and restored from backup I noticed nothing really changed with minimal usage and standby! Is this normal or should I consider setting it up as a new phone because maybe something is running in the background that's causing it to drop a percentage every few minutes under light usage? Input would be great!

    Hi all,

    here it is my experience:

Iphone 4S 16GB White,, bought at geneva apple store (Switzerland) about a week ago, already upgraded to iOS 5.0.1

Did a full charge yesterday evening, leaving the phone connected to the power source for more then two hours after the battery gauge reached 100%, then removed from dock.

Closed all the running apps, then rebooted the phone.

Disabled SIRI, ITunes WiFI Sync, localization services, iCloud and 3G cellular data (phone was under WiFi connection however).

Leaved the phone on my deck for one night in standby, with display switched off

This morning after 7h of standby battery was at 86%, so 7 hours of standby dropped down 14% of my battery!!!

(P.S. cellular signal strength was 4bars, phone was not moved during the night)

Yes, and now, if we cant use apps, apple will lose tons of money, Iphone has become and NO-phone.

Somebody said to have it in airplanemode to dran battery. (yes sir?), If thats the answer, what are you doing with a phone who cant do nothing???

I’m experiencing a horrible battery life after the update. After a 30 minute talk over a Bluetooth headset my battery went down from 100% to 87%. Before the update my 4s had at least somewhat manageable battery consumption but now it is just ridiculous.

My husband and I did the updates Friday on our phones through the software update through the Settings.  He has a 3G and I have the iPhone 4.

His 3G is much worse than before.

Mine is still not as good as before the original update.  Basically, it's okay until I start using it to do much more than Words w/Friends or texting.

Doesn't seem to matter if we have wi-fi or not, it just begins sucking down the battery when you begin using it alot.

Looks like you joined on the 14 of Nov.

    Good,

You may want to make sure your device is at 5.0.1, you did a hard reset and Settings>General>Reset.

    Best of luck.

Without valid HW ID you cannot get the support you expect.

    Best of luck.

    Consider doing the following.

Hard Reset the phone or go into Settings>General> RESET and setup a new phone. Let battery drain, do a full recharge.

    Best of luck

Also, I am surprised that AOL is still around...

    Hi all,

    here it is my experience:

Iphone 4S 64GB Black, bought in France on the 14th October, I  upgraded it to iOS 5.0.1with OTA and found no difference with the 5.0.0

Do a full charge every 2 or 1 days depending on usage.

Disabled ITunes WiFI Sync, Bluetooth and 3G cellular data (only 3 bars on strength signal phone was under WiFi connection however) but locations services are on.

1 hour of standby dropp down 4% of the battery.

After reset web data and reset all configurations my configuration is

    Wifi: off

    PersonalAcess: off

    Notifications:  manual

    Notifications Central: None

    LocationServices: On

                    System Services: off

    Web 3g: On

    CelularData: On

    Bluetooh:Off

    Restrictions:

                    Ping: Off

                    Game Center: Both options Off

Icloud: Off(with no name on login)

    Mail: (onlyone account – gmail)

                    New Data : Push Off

                    Obtain Manualy

                                   Advanced: Manualy

Twitter:Not installed and with no name on login

    Imessage:Off

Video: With no name on login

    Store:Loged off

    All other data obtain: Off

Only after the battery is empty till device turn off andrecharge to 100%  2 times, it seems to be normal (1% about 4 hours) for a while. But…

DO NOT PUT ANYTING on notifications central, not at all or the battery drain restarts. Ifyou need to remember something, use the standard alarm clock

I hope this helps someone till Apple solve the problem with ios 5.0.

Till there I will not update my system

    Iphone 3gs ios 5.0
