Q: iPhone 4s Battery Life?

My iPhone 4s battery seems terrible! Almost equivalent to my 3GS and it's terrible battery life. When I got my iPhone yesterday and restored from backup I noticed nothing really changed with minimal usage and standby! Is this normal or should I consider setting it up as a new phone because maybe something is running in the background that's causing it to drop a percentage every few minutes under light usage? Input would be great!

Not to sound stupid...how do I delete all contacts and reinstall? Do I have to do that one by one?

I dont have a Sim cards for my phone. It is Sprint and they don't use Sim cards. Should do you think switching from my SNC account to maybe a Gmail account would help?

    Hi there,

what you propose to do? Togo to the provider and order a change of the SIM card? Please wxplain because Idon't understand your intention?

My only intention is to report this fact: I spent 2 weeks in unnecessary reinstall

fresh IOS5 then do not restore, no exchange account etc..as you can read here,

and i never get a real improvment until this morning with the new sim card.

I don't say you should ask for a new SIM of course. but

I had reported that to Apple may be could be usefull for them, .

The good thing is that now i am sure, the problem would be solved by software update

because i thought my phone defective and now i saw it can work fine.

You go to settings of ICloud, you switch the setting of contacts to off and then to on again.

It may also be that just reactivating the phone with the carrier's tech support will do the trick...

I have to say that I am very disappointed with the 4S.  I had the old dinosaur 3G (not even the 3Gs) and I thought that battery was bad.  But my battery for the 4S is TERRIBLE.  I've turned off almost all notifications, reinstalled my contacts and it still drains within 3-4 hours of minimal use.  I was overjoyed to install the iOS 5.0.1 update becasue it was supposed to fix this issue, well that was a big fat FAIL.  Now it seems to be worse.  I hope they get their sh*t together soon or else I'm returning mine and won't be purchasing in iPad.

I have no idea.Anyway, again i never said  that changing the Sim card is the

way to solve the problem. Just i mean that we can now understand why

using devices wich are supposed identicals some users are satisfied

and others angry and the screen captures shown here are sometime

    so different.

    Percentage 10%

    Usage: 5 hours, 0 minutes

    Standby : 10 hours , 24 minutes

Is this good/normal ? I've never had an iPhone before , so I have nothing to compare it to .

When you want an opinion on usage stats, you must qualify your type of use because at one end of the spectrum is 40hrs audio and at another end is 6hrs 3G internet...

Ducati most likely meant 10% used or 10% left...

I have to say after much research and tinkering with my new phone I am very disappointed with the battery life.it has been terrible in comparison to my I phone 4 which I wish I had kept.my wife still has her I phone 4 and tonight her battery was on 50% mine has died and both took off charge same time roughly same usage stats and she plays more games .

Seriously disappointed and have finally decided to book in to a genius on wed.

From what I can gather it seems to be a software issue so not sure what if anything they will do,don't really want to swap for a reconditioned phone as that seems unfair .

I upgraded to new software Sunday and I have to say the problem is worse I had kinda got used to turning off all the great features of the phone to preserve a days use now today is first time my battery has died before I have made it to bed to charge.

This really is becoming an obsession now I just want the same or close battery life as my old 4 this has to be fixed c'mon apple sort it out!

Will look forward to my genius appointment on Wednesday but not holding out for any definitive answers based on this thread !

ok then, is it normal to lose 1 % of battery every 4 minutes whether browsing the internet or watching a video ?
