Q: iPhone 4s Battery Life?

My iPhone 4s battery seems terrible! Almost equivalent to my 3GS and it's terrible battery life. When I got my iPhone yesterday and restored from backup I noticed nothing really changed with minimal usage and standby! Is this normal or should I consider setting it up as a new phone because maybe something is running in the background that's causing it to drop a percentage every few minutes under light usage? Input would be great!

    Great response man, well done.

So, no matter how much you pay for a product it is O.K for you to get something worst than its predecessor

You are way "too large" for me.

Thank you. I do not think you have demonstrated at least to me that the 4S is not a huge imrovement over my original iphone and the 3g 3gs. The faster processor from the 4 also makes it a far superior phone.

Tell us which ipohone is better than the 4s?????

It is not my fault that due to pressure from silly people the idea of mulitasking and other pretty useless features were demanded. Well we got them and they all use power! Most folks are trying to learn to manage that power usage given the real purpose (phone/txt/email/calendar/GPS) that 99.9% of phone users care about should allow for say a full day of use without charge. I listened, learned and now am getting reasobable power consumption. Being able to set my phone to drain in 4 hours is no reason to say the phone is crap. It does a lot. power is the tradeoff and you have to be smart and choose your configureation wisely

Now  back to the pont!  You think you paid too much for the phone. Then why did you buy it? And why are you not selling it becuase that wil solve all your iphone problems. I am here to learn not to listen to you complain!

i had a pc before and they hab alot of problems!!

if there is technic there are always problems!!!

bu ti think apple knows how important this fix is for all of us!

    APPLE FOR EVER!

This is my 5th iphone, I know perfectly well what to expect when buying one.

I do enjoy all iphone features, this is not the issue here, i am a huge fan of it. I agree with almost everything you say.

My problem is that for the price Apple is demanding (here in Greece you are getting the 16GB for 670euros!!!) I too demand the best out of it in means of stability and performance and I am very sorry to say but battery performance is way worst than competition (check Galaxy SII for example)

    Hello

I am one of the many with big battery drain problems. I've been reading this thread for a couple of days and it seems that some are saying  its a software problem. I hope its a software problem that will be fixed in 5.0.2 but WHY so many get their 4s replaced by Apple, even two or three times. Why would Apple waste 2 or 3 phones per complaint when the solution will be fixed by a software update. Can someone explain ?

    Thanks

So you think that multi-tasking is silly? Really? So, for example, you don't want to download a podcast while listening to music and checking your emai or browsing the web? Why on Earth have you got a smartphone then? I've been doing such things on my Nokias for the last 5 or 6 years, and it's great, very convenient, and doesn't kill the battery, unless it's done badly, which, with Symbian, is not the case.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with properly implemented multi-tasking, provided that the OS and the apps can cope; this does not seem to be the case with the 4S, unfortunately...

At this stage, one could argue that any previous iPhone is better than the 4S, because the battery life of the 4S ***** big time, and Apple do not appear to have found a solution..

yes I do think multiasking is silly on a phone when the cost is battery death. I don't do podcasts or movies on a phone what is the point. I listen to music only when I forget my 80gb ipod and browes the web only when I need information.

Why do I need a smart phone? because I WORK!! I coordinate lots of information use email need to make reschedule appointments ... you know not play with the dam thing use it productively and frankly surf the web I do it on a proper computer or at least an ipad. mulitasking on a phone is for dorks. None of it works well on apple or any other platform pure and simple fact. It is bibically stupid to have to double punch the control button to close my phone app after I get a call or close my weather when I want to see if i need an ubrella. You want to double your work load to get stuff done and not drain your power in hours that is cool for you but what my biggest beef is that there is not a "turn stupid multitasking off" switch in the controls.

Now we are all stuck with stupid.
