Q: iPhone 4s Battery Life?

My iPhone 4s battery seems terrible! Almost equivalent to my 3GS and it's terrible battery life. When I got my iPhone yesterday and restored from backup I noticed nothing really changed with minimal usage and standby! Is this normal or should I consider setting it up as a new phone because maybe something is running in the background that's causing it to drop a percentage every few minutes under light usage? Input would be great!

I never tried fly mode on and wifi on. I am interested to see your results after an hour of idling iPhone.

HOW MUCH DOES IT TAKE FOR APPLE TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT ALL THIS ?!?!??!!?

(Apologies for shouting but I am so ****** with my iPhone 4 ... worked perfectly with no issues at all until these updates came and now it overheats and the battery only last hours ... GRRRR)

Have you tried Rolandomerida's/buxbuster's steps on the last page? Or Miless's stuff on page 369? Not certain Apple will be doing much at this point in time...

    Good luck nevertheless.

p.s. Apple, by the way, why not change the URL syntax to reflect page number and not post number... i.e. I note the url contains start=6300 or something, yet I advise this guy to look for page 369, so it would be much simpler if he could modify the url in the address bar and write start=369. There is no way someone will click ((current page number - desired page)/3) times or something like that with long threads. Think different!

I'm new to this thread and wanted to know what ideas have been tossed around for fixing the battery issue. I have turned everything off for the most part. I do not push any notifications, I am not syncing to iCloud. I do not have any location services turned on. I have tried the drain the battery, recharge, reset all the settings, then drain again with nothing working. This thing is like a glorified iPod right now. I am at 2 hrs 15 min usage with 4hrs 36 min standby and I am at 56% on the battery. 4 hrs of usage is pretty pathetic if you ask me. My old EVO was better than that. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Got a new MicroSim card and solved my problem! I tried so many combos of disabling services etc but the phone would report usage even when it was not being used. I read somewhere (i think it was in this thread) that somebody got a new SIM card so i tried it and it worked (no batery drain, no "phantom usage" and I now have most of location services, notifications & siri on). I had the microSIM since about one year ago when i first got the iphone 4 and didnt have a problem until i got the iphone 4s. I guess it could have been normal wear and tear of the card or a new chip for the new card. Dont really know if this is the same issue that most of the people are having, but if someone else also tries this and works it may help to let everyone know...
