Q: iPhone 4s Battery Life?

My iPhone 4s battery seems terrible! Almost equivalent to my 3GS and it's terrible battery life. When I got my iPhone yesterday and restored from backup I noticed nothing really changed with minimal usage and standby! Is this normal or should I consider setting it up as a new phone because maybe something is running in the background that's causing it to drop a percentage every few minutes under light usage? Input would be great!

    I feel like throwing this phone.. Its the worst battery life I have ever encountered. I was in a hurry, got the phone charged to 35% and left home. It's drained in 1 hour of keeping it in my pocket and doing nothing on it! It ***** so much I cant even explain in words.. Its like steve jobs running out of battery sooner than he should have.

    I find really weird that iOS 5.0.1 has two different builds!!!! Is there something to hide? Why the second build was not release as 5.0.2? This looks very very bad....

    I think the second 5.0.1 was intended to solve the SIM card issues some people experienced.

    As it only updated non-Apple firmware there was nothing for developers to test so no point releasing as 5.0.2.

    Have you tried resetting it without restoring a backup I.e no email settings.  Don't enable location services or find my iPhone.

    Test it for a day like this to see if there is any difference.  It might help you to tell if there is a software issue you can work around or the hardware is defective.

    @Guizotia

    Let's assume that one who is a normal user has a SIM issue and iOS 5.0.1 the old build. How on earth that normal user should figure out that he/she should update the iOS when the iTunes shows that there is no update available? As you just mentioned the iOS 5.0.1 with the newest build fixes the SIM issue but for that the normal user should spend time on forums and figure it out or visit a Apple Store!

    It is a point to release 5.0.2 for the normal users so they can see in the iTunes that there is available a new update which fixes the SIM issue!!!!!!

    I was wondering why iPhone 4S and/or iOS 5.X.X needs location/GPS to find the cellular network (it is in the location services)? It takes a lot of battery energy to use GPS to find cellular nerwork and the second thing is that all dumb/feature phone can find their cellular network just fine without using GPS. What it is even more funny/sad is that the one should disable the usage of GPS for finding the cellular network in order to get better battery life!

    Latest 5.0.1 build has helped my 64GB iPhone 4S grab a signal faster I did a reset as well (reset all settings) to be sure as the phone was set up as new anyway, battery seems to be draining less quickly, but time will tell, need to test for a few days. Siri still glitches out about the weather now and then though, telling me "I can feel my mind slipping away" so 2001 a space oddessy

    Went to the Apple store they gave me a second iphone 4S, still getting the same pathetic battery life. Apple get your lazy act together and fix the battery problem.

    This issue has been going on for far too long!

    The apple support page for the SIM card issue explains how to upgrade to the build of 5.0.1 to fix it.

    If you call the support, first thing they will tell you is to restore the phone. If you do so, you will get the new build.

    As above and http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4148

    So nothing suspicious about the second build of 5.0.1 and it has nothing to do with battery life.
