Q: iPhone 4s Battery Life?

My iPhone 4s battery seems terrible! Almost equivalent to my 3GS and it's terrible battery life. When I got my iPhone yesterday and restored from backup I noticed nothing really changed with minimal usage and standby! Is this normal or should I consider setting it up as a new phone because maybe something is running in the background that's causing it to drop a percentage every few minutes under light usage? Input would be great!

    Two week old 4s here and suffering battery drainage problem too.  

     

    Just changed my firmware to the 9a406 (was at 9a405) and will post back results once I cycle my battery.

     

    On my old 3gs I had substantial battery drain issues as well after upgrading to ios5 and ended up downgrading which fixed the battery issue for it.

    I am sorry to report that i finally fixed my battery issues with the 4s - I sold it :(((

    So sad because I loved this phone and my heart was breaking to let it go,

    bad Christmas for me :((( But I just couldnn't live with these issues.

    The camera was so fantastic and the rest...I don't want to even think about it otherwise I will cry.

    Fortunately I didn't take a financial hit. Will get a used 3GS to hold me over

    until something better arrives. Problem is that I am now stuck with a stupid contract

    in my country that is going to cost me a small fortune for 2 years - and with no "high-end" phone.

    I guess you could call it back luck. Well merry Christmas everyone and good luck with

    your 4s, hope it works out for you...

    Bought my 4s maybe around 2 weeks ago going on the 3rd , the first day i recieved it charged it then started using  it. but battery was going down rapidly i showed my freind since he has the sam one but his is white and he told me he does not have that problem , he hears music all day when i rarely use mines yet my battery was decreasing 3-5% every 5 to 10 minutes so i took it back to sprint and i recieved a new one ,

     

     

    now on my 2nd 4s and battery life still ***** goes down every 5 to 10 minutes, its really sad i was so excited about the 4s but i am very unhappy with apple now, only thing i use it for mostly texts and data but im not a heavy data user ill ocasionally surf the web or check facebook but nothing heavy and it still goes down im currently charging it im going to take it off at 100% and keep you guys updated on my batterry status.

    No, I own a white version of the iphone 4S. Battery life is simply pathetic.

    I have black and battery is fine.. I mean does it last a week and no charge, no,  but  I can get like 15 stdby and 4hr use doing normal emails txt and a few calls browseing web and have maybe 50% left.

    Just received my new iPhone 4S today (exhanged for faulty 4S - speakers went ?!?!) , just DFU restored to 9A406. Did this with my previous 4S and set up as new phone (do not restore from backup) -definately improved battery life. Did not measure it 'scientifically" but definately 12hours increased standby time. I do have a suspicion that WiFi -Sync is one of the big culprits, especiallly if you leave iTunes running - even when Mac goes to sleep !! Feel free to contradict me if you have got proof of the opposite

    Battery life on my 4s is preposterous! I don't really care if it's a software issue or what. Quality control at Apple has been terrible lately... Phone that cannot even stay one day in standby is useless. I want my money back. Too bad I've upgraded my 3GS with iOS 5 as I cannot use it either.

    I'm not 100% sure on this but Apple may still be signing the 3gs signatures on 4.2.1 - might be worth a shot on your 3gs.
