Norton firewall

Good evening,
I have read the posts.
I am sure Norton firewall is a disater.
I have just bought a I.Mac intel.
But until Final Cut univesal applications are available I must use the Power Book to edit video.
My wife needs to use the PB for personal use and asked me to install Norton.
I did so against my better instincts.
What a disaster.
The FC files were corrupted.
I have had to carry out a full reinstall.
Six hours wasted.
Mac has a very good firewall that can be activated.
I have used Apple for three years and no attacks so far.
Also my router has a firewall.
I feel confortable.

Michael, without going into a huge dissertation,
Anything Norton on Mac OSX is bad ju ju.
Norton is fine for PC but not Mac OSX it has shown to corrupt Freeze and even make your Mac inoperable.
Mac OSX's Firewall is in fact one of the best on the market.
I suggest you UnInstall anything you have Norton and your problems will go away.

You say after using the Uninstaller (bits remained)
Trash any of the remaining bits and repair permissions and go again.
In some cases you might want to alos try using
Macjanitor.

Onyx.

These are all free and shareware.
They are all very good at cleaning up the unwanted garbage.
Cheers Don
