Correct settings in outlook to access me.com email

I used p01.imap.mail.me.com, port 993 for IMAP with SSL , 587 for SMTP with Auto , works ok with Outlook 2010.

tried this but it doesnt work.

also, my main computer is loogend without no problem under my @me.com username but can't log on the icloud windows 7 application on my laptop .... what's the problem here ?

p99-imap.mail.me.com > incoming

p99-smtp.mail.me.com > outgoing

check remember password and SPA

then go to "more settings" > "Advanced" tab and enter

For IMAP Port :"993" or just choose SSL from the encrytion dropdown

For SMTP Port : "587" and choose Auto from the encrytion dropdown. (do not choose SSL)

then goto outgoing server tab

check first box ...SMTP

been frustrated by this for 6 months and just discovered that changing your apple ID passowrd to a "strong" or "green" rated one (not just the minimum requirements they state) enables the system again... might be some sort of apple security issue but once you change it an re-enter the strong password when prompted in outlook then it works wine 🙂

Blinxter - after an hour of frustration and combing through Apple help - you are right - i strengthened my password and it went away. ( I was getting an annoying constant popup message asking to re-enter my password) hopefully this will work!

This could very well be late (possibly archived) but hopefully this helps a few people out.

Outlook 2010/2013

Manually configure POP or IMAP account

Incoming: imap.mail.me.com

Outgoing: smtp.mail.me.com

Select More Settings (lower right) > navigate to the Outgoing Server check the box and radio button below it.

Now navigate to the Advanced tab and input port 993 for incoming and the dropdown should be SSL. For outgoing select port 587 dropdown should be Auto.

Select Next, should get 2 green check marks for sign in and test message.

All Done!

I like this reply, BUT still getting the requests to input password. I know It is the correct one. I deleted the mail iCloud twice and put it back in with this password. Very frustrating. Guess one of the replies was to change your password so will try that. Let's see the iCloud password has to be the same as Apple password so ....

I think I had the same problem. I had deleted and then reset up icloud again and then added it into my outlook accounts as xxx@icloud.com. Then, I started getting that pop up to enter my passwork when outlook was started up. So, I deleted the icloud email account, and it stopped.

Port 993 and SSL encryption on the incoming server, but DO NOT encrypt the outgoing server and keep as port 25 in the advanced settings.

After many, many, attempts this worked for.
