Me, too. What fun?  So ... um on what cloud in the sky do all my lost Contacts now reside?  Any way I can get them to float back down to me?  Ironically, I don't even care about using iCloud - but I thought it would be a good way to keep a back up of my Contacts out there.  Ha!  Little did I know that, instead, it was a way for me to suddenly find the NEED for a backup, now that all it appears to have done is delete all Contacts from my iPhone.

If anyone hears of a fix ... the remedy would be greatly appreciated!

Same thing kind of happened to me. Me and my mother share Apple IDs, our contact list is now merged, i learned afterward that I need to creat an @me account. Ive done that now, but have no idea how to seperate the contacts or put them into groups... i dont have my contacts in address book.

@Garvie- you may have just provided the kernel of knowledge we need! Please elaborate on the need to create a @me account to get contacts to sync properly.

My wife and I share an iMac. Both have new iPhones and I have an iPad2.  My devices are syncing properly. She lost all contacts when she set up iCloud. I do not recall if she has an @me account. I do because I used MobileMe before iCloud. She did not.

I have figured out the answer. All of the contacts have been moved to the cloud. Why they have been removed from the computer, I have no idea and am ticked off. However, you can still access them on your computer. Whenever you need your address book to send to a specific contact, you'll notice that there is a drop down menu at the top. In the drop down menu, choose icloud. Once you do this, you will see all of your contacts listed.
