I just combined two iPhoto libraries, and the result is a big one, 47,000 photos.  Now it is scanning for "faces".  I have the library on my external hard drive, which is rat-a-tat-tatting now for hours.  Isn't there any way to stop "faces"?  I'm afraid my external drive is going to blow itself up.

Thanks

That wouldn't be a solution because the older version will not be able to read the newer format Library. It's unlikely that your drive will blow up.

How long is a piece of string: Factors that will impact: What processor in your Mac, How Much Ram, Quality of the images.
