why dosent my email apear in the notification center?
iPhone 4, iOS 5
Go to settings, notifications, turn them on
all of them are on still does not show up til opened
Same here, and Mail doesn't even show up in the notification center list.
I have heard some people claim that they do not get their mail push notifications if they "hard close" the mail app. When you exit the mail app, are you also double-tapping the home button and closing the app completely? If so, try leaving it a whle without "hard closing" it and see if you get your notifications.
Go to Settings>Notifications>Mail and is Notification Center turned On? If not turn it on and then send an email to yourself and see if it works. If it does not then reply to this and I will try and figure something out.
Im not getting anything in notification center besides iCal
Me neither.
I'm having the exact same problem - iCal's there, but e-mail only updates when I load Mail for the first time. Quite annoying, and not what was supposed to do...
same problem here. Just downloaded mountain lion and get calendar notification, but not email.. Any ideas?
Try asking in the Mac forums - this post is about Notifications on iPhone.
I am having the same trouble. I have had the mail client open all morning. It does absolutely nothing if mail is sorted. Which all mine are. It will put put a message in the side bar if something goes into the inbox. But no alerts ever work. I have gone through the setting which are all correct and I have it working with the new stuff but not mail. Apple want me to pay £25 to call support ( twice the price of the operating system ) I suspect by the look of this forum, so they can tell me that it just doesn't work.
Notifications are only supposed to appear for messages in the InBox - not ones moved elsewhere by rules.
You have got to be kidding me!!!
Nope, not kidding.
Oh dear, well is there a work-around somehow? can I somehow get one to go in each maybe? I would imagine anyone who has lots of people emailing them like a business needs to sort their mail. The same people are likely to want notifications of the events, I did. To me this really reads, "it doesn't work", plain and simple. Same ol' same o'. Mountain Lion, "It just works!" lol.
