Nov 4, 2011 7:29 AM in response to JamiDianneby AJ20,I am having the same trouble but not always. The static crackling seems to come and go. Hoping for a quick fix!

Nov 4, 2011 7:42 AM in response to JamiDianneby Faustous,I just ended a call where I was hear the static.
First the battery issues (This morning, usage: 3hrs 9mins, standby: 3hrs 33minutes and am at 34% and dropping 1% every 4 mins or so), now this static issue. (sounded like a muffled Blackberry antenna sound, low, but very distracting).
I guess I am going to the Apple Store to talk to a genius.
If it means anything, I am in Arlington, VA.

Nov 4, 2011 7:45 AM in response to Faustousby Matthijst,You could take this recording of the static and let the genius listen to it:

I also had the battery issue. Updated to 5.0.1 and turned all iCloud stuff off and now I'm back to 2% decline in 7 hours, so that solved it for me...

Nov 4, 2011 7:56 AM in response to Matthijstby Faustous,I do not have a developer account but I don't think I should have to turn off the iCloud stuff at all.
I am mainly going so that I can have it on record that I had issues.
Plus the chinese food court place in Pentagon City is good ;-)

Nov 4, 2011 8:14 AM in response to JamiDianneby filmfanatic24,Has anyone who went to the Apple Store and replaced their phone actually got one where it isn't a problem?
I already replaced one and don't really want to waste time going in there every couple of days to get a new phone if all the replacements seem to be having the same issue.

Nov 4, 2011 8:24 AM in response to filmfanatic24by Faustous,From all the threads I have read so far, replacing the phone does not appear to help.
The main reason I am going is if the fixes for it take it past 90 days, I want to be on support record that I had this issue.

Nov 4, 2011 9:26 AM in response to robbiecampbellsoupby robbiecampbellsoup,I just tested this out again on a long call.
1. The position in which I am holding the phone does not matter.
2. I did a restore and setup as a new phone. No help.
3. The Audio on the call was dropping intermittently, for about 0.5-1s. i.e I couldn't hear my partners voice, or the static.
4. I realized I've heard a noise similar to this before.
It's VERY similar to the noise I would hear from my 3GS if I had it in this exact configuration; listening to music through a car stereo, the device is plugged into a cigarette outlet USB charger, the battery is at 100%. I would hear a low level, high frequency static coming through the speakers. If I unplugged the device the static went away. It didn't matter which stereo/charger it was being used with.
