Q: Static in Iphone 4s

I'm not on 3G at the moment. But even on the GSM network I was experiencing static. That's gone for now.

I'll try on 3G today and let you know.

Unfortunately there's still a little bit of static when calling on a 3G network. I'm under the impression it's less then in was before the restore, but that could be my imagination.

I thought I had it fixed... It ***** that Its not.

Thanks for trying something different and for reporting it here. Something tells me that this thing is software related and Apple will eventually come around and fix it.

I've not experiencing the static on both of Softbank (3G) and au (CDMA) in Japan,

I have fixed the problem for good with a new Samsung Galaxy S2 :) Actully i have to thank apple they made a favor.

Hey there, I'm from Denmark, and am also having the problem. I have now gotten my iPhone 4S, exchanged two times, and the third one is coming to me tomorrow. I really hope this one don't have the static problem. Its driving me crazy

Statis noise exists all the time as soon as I am using the phone app to call anyone.  If you use skype or something else there is no hissing... just the phone app. Apple, please fix this!!!

I use the Klipsch S4i's too... they were amazing on my iPhone 3Gs.. I notice that hiss more than ever on the iPhone 4S .. so much so that I had to stop using them... it's really sad, because they were good head phones.  The other headphones have the hiss too but not as much.  APPLE PLEASE FIX

The sound is even louder when 3g connection is used for downloading some data from internet (it is heard from the back case, around the apple logo).

I submitted my comments.  Hopefully the more people that report the static/hissing will increase the probability that they fix it.

Do you know what happens with all the iphones returned due to this problem? Maybe, this phones have now a different owner with a weaker hearing

Fwiw, I'm experiencing the same crackling during calls/using the earpiece that many of you have described. It wasn't always present. It started about a week and a bit ago, and it's gotten worse. It's not always present, but when it is, it's noticeable and annoying.

If I use the earbuds, I don't hear the crackle. Only when I'm using the earpiece. And it's there whether I'm on a call or listening to a voice message.

I'm not sure if it's a hardware issue, a software issue, or a network/3G issue, or all three.

I certainly hope they find a solution, but it's good to know I'm not alone. Strength in numbers!!!

Returned my phone today! Went back to cricket, half the cost and clear as a bell. Good luck to all who are stuck in contracts with these phones. I feel very fortunate I was able to get out before getting locked into a contract. Other than the voice issue with the static it was a really nice phone. Hope they can fix it, and if they do I might consider the 4s again, but for now I just needed a phone that actually worked properly.
