Did anybody tryout the beta of iOS 5.1 yet? I'm curious if it solves the static. If we believe the apple representatives (and I hope we can), they're aware of the problem and are trying to fix it.

I switched to a windows phone 2 weeks back, but iOS is way better. I ordered a new 4s without a contract directly from the apple store this time. If all goes well, I'll receive the phone next week. I'll keep you posted.

My two cents on some recent observations. Off late, I have not heard as much static on my phone. Both on wi-fi and 3G. Nothing changed as such on the device side. Didn't do any resets or restores. So I wonder...

May be I just got used to it but I doubt it since at times I try hard to listen to it but don't get much static. Could that have anything to do with the story BGR ran on Phoenix getting some big ATT upgrade (I live there)? Don't know...

nah it's still there. i'm thinking it depends on where you are, how many bars you're getting, etc. i can be out in public and not hear anything and then when i get home, use 3G it's REALLY bad. i'm still thinking it's hardware since not all of us are on just 1 network. if it's interference then the only thing i can think of is wifi.

I wasted my time talking to Apple (first Victor and then her manager Michell). Michell connected to the AT&T guy and left. She said it can't be the phone's problem and must be AT&T's problem. The AT&T guy doesn't have any clue and is wasting my time.

What's your advice? This is my 3rd phone (iPhone 4s 16GB Black) replaced by genius bar. Should I go to genius bar and try to replace again?

I wouldn't. Either use the phone as is or get rid of it and move on to something else.
