Bluetooth stereo headset doesn't work with iPhone Music in iOS 5

I have a iPhone 3GS and I used a Jabra BT620s stereo bluetooth headset to listen to mustic for years. Now, with the update to iOS 5, it doesn't work with iTunes. In fact, it disconnects randomly and often won't stay connected. I see the bluetooth symbol blink and go solid, then turn gray again. And when it does stay solid, iTunes (the new Music app) won't give me the little output selection button/icon to say to play music over the headset.

I pared the same headset with my new 4GS, and it also won't work with Music, though I can make calls and talk to Siri just fine. What did iOS 5 break?!? I play almost all my music through this headset, and I am not going to be happy if I have to downgrade my 3GS back to iOS 4.x just to listen to music and podcasts.

My 3GS since upgrading to IOS 5 gets upset when listening to podcasts on my Renault Scenic builtin bluetooth. When the satnav cuts in "pauses" the iPhone, but when it releases (play's) it again the podcast doesn't restart. I have to pause, un-pause, pause, un-pause via the control stalk and the it starts to play again.
Strange as it's been fine on IOS 4.x.x. since I got the car in Feb. One of the many undocumented features of IOS 5 bluetooth changes.

Other than that.... I like the update!

I too have similar problem. My bluetooth headset (Philips SHB9000) became very unstable too after I upgraded y iPad 2 to iOS 5.

The symptoms are similar. The Bluetooth headset dropped randomly. The bluetooth signal icon keep on blinking every a while. I can't use my headset at all. I tested my headset with my MacBook Air and it's working very fine!!!

My headset was fine when I am using iOS 4.3.3 :(

Apple, please help.

I've tried re-pairing, and that didn't help. In fact, I've got an issue where I can't always turn off the headset without turning off Bluetooth on the iPhone. If I can manage to reset the headset and get it to work (which I can't quite figure out how to make it work, reliably), then if I hit pause for longer than 5 seconds, the headset disconnects, and I'm back to it not working.

Like everyone else, iOS 5 made it impossible to connect. I've had my BT620s for a pretty long time and I had never updated the firmware and I found mentions of people doing this. Unfortuantly it does not look like Jabra actually still has the firmware updater on their website, so it took me a while to find it. One I did find it, it was windows only, so I did the update on WinXP in parallels. So far it looks like it solved my problem.

Hopefully that will help someone else!

I googled "jabra bt620s firmware update" and found "bt620s_usb-driver.zip" on softwaredriverdownload.com which contained "saturn-1-31-0.exe" and "Jabra BT620s.pdf".

The PDF has the instructions but I still needed the user manual to work out which buttons to press. The exe is the windows executable.

Frankly spoken the whole thing is somewhat sketchy and I'm really disapointed Jabra no longer supports this device.
