Can I remove tabs in safari ios5?

You can close tabs via 'x' on their top left - but you can't remove/change tabbed browsing in iOS 5 and go back to thumbnails/pages, tabbed is how Safari now works.

There is a plan to make it configurable? Thumbnails save space and it is more beautiful.

You mean like before iOS 5?

I would very much like the old method of switching back. A few words from the title is far less hlepful to know what to switch to than a thumbnail. In addition the tabs take up vertical real estate.

Tabs on the iPad are not helpful like they are for desktop browsing. The iPad lacks the memory to keep all the tabs quickly available. So switching between tabs often means waiting for the tab to load to actually see what the page is.

The old method of thumbnails was superior.

This is a very disappointing change. Screen real estate is very valuable on hand-held devices and this tab bar consumes a significant area of the screen. Apple should seriously consider a Safari setting to choose between the original thumbnails and the new tabs.

It's true the tabs are very disappointing. Ten steps back for safari. Have filled in feedback. Urge others to do the same. The thumbnails were far more elegant

I really don't like the tabs and wish I could get my thumbnails back. I would not have upgraded had I known about this problem.

You should get an 'x' on left-end of the selected/open tab, unless it's the last tab (you won't get the 'x' on the last tab that you have).

No I didn't get a 'x', restarted and it appeared, very strange, thanks any way
