Hi all. I have a mondeo xr5 and am experiencing the same probs. I have contacted ford (aust) and I am taking in tomorrow to check for updates for the stereo. I'll post if fixed. The ford service person did say that ios5 Bluetooth is too advanced for the stereo. Ios5 is a pain in the arse ! The delay in just typing this is unbearable.

I have a similar Problem with my Renault Mégan Bose Sound-System with built in GPS-Navigation. Worked perfectly with iOS 4.xx. Now, every time my navigationsystem (or me, using the pause-button) interrupts the music to give directions the iPhone 4S (also was the case with my old iPhone 4 with iOS 5) does not interrupt immediately music playback (has a lag of 5-10 seconds!) and after the navigationsystem terminates the directions, it takes another 5-10 seconds to resume (i. e. the playback starts on the iPhone, but I cannot hear anything for 5-10 seconds). This is very annoying, because this way it is impossible to listen to audiobooks because you lose 10-20 seconds of text. Before the lag was less than 1 second altogether so it was perfectly possible to listen to audiobooks.

I hope this issue will be resolved soon with the next update?!

I do think we should deserve more attention from Apple.

iOS5 seemed to be great but this Bluetooth change has been a real pain in the neck. I am also quite annoyed by the fact that people from all over the world are complaining about this issue but nobody from Apple is giving any feedback.

Moreover, we all know that we cannot step back to iOS 4.x.y so I do think that it is unfair from Apple to lock us in an uncomfortable situation without providing any feedback.

I do hope to receive some clue something soon. For being a company that uses customer experience as a key success factor, Apple made me really upset. And an upset customer is surely not a good investment for the future...

Ihave a ford fiesta 2009 model . Upgraded to ios5 today. Bluetooth connection for phone calls and music from my iPhone. Warning "unable to connect with Bluetooth device" came up every time I changed songs. Now my radio won't turn off .. Hopefully it won't flatten my battery. Also when I made a call via bluetooth , worked fine untile I hung up and the radio display stated it was still on a call.. Arhh !!! Hope I can revert back to the old operating system

Hi, can you please let me know how you go with Ford as I'm going to try and take mine in if they can fix the situation.

Actually, I like the fact, that music starts playing directly on connecting... So an option to switch this on or off would be a good solution.

Yes, I do agree that this is a nice feature BUT:

I personally connect my iPhone via a cable, and it is a PITA to change the audio source contantly because somehow the bluetooth connection prevails over the wired connection.

I have the same problem with Ford Focus ST, 59 plate with the Sony Head Unit. Hopefully someone can confirm that the updated firmware works!

OK, in my case I hear music and I use the phone over the bluetoothconnection, so it's very convenient, the music stops, when I get a phonecall and when the gps navigation system gives direction... theoretically... since iOS 5 it's not working well anymore :-(

I find it quite irritating that this issue was picked up during beta testing (there are plenty of references to the problem from July onwards) and that apple have ignored it and gone ahead with iOS5 without fixing it first.

I have the same problem, ford Mondeo 60 plate with comms pack, I phoned apple today and got put through to a senior tech person who said its not apples problem and that I need to contact ford and get them to sort it out, he said that apple can do what they like to their software and I should of checked with ford to see if the iPhone was comparable!! I did point out that all worked fine until last thursday when I upgraded to ios5 but he said it not his problem and if I will buy after market products I should make sure they work... Err but I did do that a year ago when I bought the car..

Thanks for your help apple! Very good customer service..

    wow - that's appalling Steve

  • Cyril2000 Level 1 Level 1 (0 points)

Sounds a little arrogant to me...!? So are we all to buy new cars just because Apple decided to use some new Bluetooth protocol?

I'm having the same issue with 2011 Ford Fiesta.

Come on Apple, hook me up!
