Updated iPhone 4 to IOS5: iPhoto Syncing Problems

I updated to to IOS5 and now when I sync my photo's from iPhoto, not all the checked pictures aren't syncing. I have plenty of room for the photo's, they were all there before the update. Also noticed a spinning wheel at the bottom of the photo list on the iPhone when I open the photo app. Anyone else having this problem? Any ideas?

Thanks for your time......

I updated both my iPhone 4 and iPad 2 to iOS 5 and now, I can't sync my iPhoto library at all. It tries to start the sync and then produces a message saying that the "disk cannot be read or written" (on both devices). I have deleted the iPod photo cache and whatever... not helping.

If it's of any significance, my iPhoto library is on an external disk. Moved it there and nothing else seems to have any trouble with it.

Can't say I'm extremely impressed with this upgrade. Numbers and Pages will not install on iOS 5 either. And a couple of my apps on the iPad are just gone. Hopefully not with their data. Remains to be seen.

I just upgraded to iOS 5 and tried to sync my photos from my photo library to my iPhone and it won't sync the photos - it seems to be synching without any problems but when I check the phone, it has a bunch of photos missing and duplicates of some photos in the folder. It's a mess. I can't seem to get a clean sync. What can I do to rectify this?

I am having the exact same problem. Only about 3/4 of my library is syncing. at the bottom of the problem events / albums in the photo app on my phone is a grey spinning wheel, spinning forever.

I have tried everything I know that usually resolves itunes / iphoto sync issues, like trashing the ipod photo cache folder. No solution so far though...

I think we can definintely rule out lack of space. I have plenty of room on my device, and the photos always used to sync without a problem. Only since I updated to ios5 has this been an issue.

Something similar happens when I try to look at the Apps tab when the device is connected. I can navigate the first page or two of apps, selecting or unselecting Apps, but if I scroll the App list to the bottom, spinning wheel and I have to force iTunes to quit.

Only since updating iTunes and the iPad/iPhone has this happened.

To be able to sync at all I had to deselect syncing any pictures for both the iPhone and iPad.

Another weirdness I've had, which I presume could be related to this issue, is that on pretty much every sync i get a message that 'this iphone has previously been synced with another iphoto library ... do you want to erase photos, replace, etc. etc.'

It's my iphoto library every time. I'm not sure why itunes / my phone can't work that one out...

I've tried the exact same things.....deleted the ipod photo cache, restored the iphone, rebuilt the iphoto library, created a new iphoto library, reinstall iTunes, confirmed I'm not running out of space, etc. And all of my photos are still not syncing. Photos that I take w/ the 4s camera don't end up in the photo library and photos that I've taken with my DSLR don't end up there either. After syncing completes and I go to the photos app on the iPhone, the spinning wheel at the bottom spins indefinitely. It's driving me nuts.

I was on the phone with AppleCare for 2 hrs the other day and they couldn't figure it out. I've gotta believe it's a software issue and that a fix will be coming shortly.....or maybe I'm just optimistic? One of the main reasons I purchased the iPhone was because of the camera and photo capabilities.

I've got a 20' iMac (2.66 ghz Intel Core 2 Duo) w/ 4 gb ram running OS X 10.7.2 Lion. All Mac all the way and this is the first time I have to disagree with "it just works".

I have the same problems that you all have mentioned and I've tried every solution possibly known and nothing has worked. I sent Apple an email about it because I'm guessing it's a software thing that needs a fix. I've been using Macs for over 13 years now and usually solve my own issues with errors but can't shake this one😕.

Also, is anyone else having issues with the camera on their phone? The photos that I take while the phone is locked (double clicking the home button) show up as black boxes in my camera roll. All other photos will show up (but I can't copy them to my computer). Not only am I having this photo problem in iTunes but my iPhoto (nor any other photo program) will not recognize that there are any photos on my phone even though there are several dozen photos.

I'm seriously disturbed that this issue is throwing off my groove...😝

Same problems here. Tried calling Apple tonight and couldn't get passed the horrendous "voice recognition" software. What happened to live people? Have we been outsourced to a machine?

Anyway, I haven't been this angry since around 97 or 98 with OS7. That's a loooong time.

Absolutely no synching of iPhoto to my 3GS, have everything updated.

Also having problems with Time Machine. It kills my internet more often than not when it tries to back up. Not happy.
