iPhone 4s, echo when using apple headset during a call

I am on my second 32gb black 4s from O2 UK and still the problem persists exactly as described in this thread... Now talking to Apple in Ireland who stated they are unaware of the problem so I have also sent them a link to this thread for training purposes. Tried reset, new sim, different headphones, testing sim in different 4s all to no avail..

It's bloody annoying that this special feature we are encountering was not part of Apples marketing!!! I for one am rapidly losing the elegiance towards Apple.

Not sure whether Apple understands that they exist because of us not that we exist because of them!!!!

I am having the same issue except without the use of a headset. I also find that when I recieve or place a call I have to say hello twice because the fist one does not go through as if the mic was delayed or muted a few seconds after connecting. Iphone 4s 16gb AT&T

I have the exact same issues on the exact same device. Very frustrating. I've owned every version of the iPhone and never experienced this problem before the 4s.

I also have the echo (garbled) on my verizon 4S without a headset. I checked with my wife and her coworker, who have AT&T 4S', and they experience the same issue. Has Apple acknowledged the issue?

Alright fellas. Try this out. Turn the "Raise to Speak" off for Siri. Working good for a while. keep posted.

I turned it off since the first day I got my iPhone 4S. It is still causing this annoying echo!

Having the same issue. Garbled calls after about 5 minutes, but as low as a minute and as high as about 10 minutes. Headsets make it worse and the problem goes away upon disconnecting the headset. I tried a firmware wipe of DFI at the Apple Genius bar and that didn't work. Then software reset, then swapped out the iPhone and I'm still experiencing the issue. I've tried five different headphones and that didn't change anything.

Anyone know if this has been accepted as a bug?

Yes I am having the same problem here. I was using a set of headphones that were bought from the Apple store before the release of the iPhone 4S, so this indicates the issue is with the iPhone not the headphones. I am on Rogers.

Also I the call starting to garble around 10-15 minits into the call. I had to hang up and call back three times.

I've had the same issue with having to say hello twice before the other person hears me.

Apple doesn't admit to bugs until the fix is already in the release pipeline. 🙂

I'm also getting the same problem when I use my headset...The person on the other line hear their own echo...I switched to a new headset, but that did not solve the problem...I think it might be software problem...

Had a genius bar appointment yesterday and he confirmed it was a bug that is due to be fixed in 5.0.1

I have the same issue with Telus in Canada iPhone 4S 16gb white
