Q: iPhone 4s, echo when using apple headset during a call

I completely agree. It's clearly an iOS issue. My problem is that they've just released the beta of 5.0.1 which is for the battery issue, no mention of fixing the call echo problem which is plaguing so many users!

I am on Rogers.  Same probelm.  replaced the phoen and headset but I suspect it is an Ios issue.  Seems like the sensitivity of the headset may be to high.

APPLE PLEASE READ ALL OF THESE POSTS AND FIX THIS, it is really not the experiance I had expected when moving from my blackberry to iPhone...

I am also experiencing this issue. iPhone 4s on Verizon in Washington, DC. After about five minutes into a phone call using the apple earbuds/headset, I'll hear a slight reverb and the person on the other end of the call will hear a very loud and very delayed echo of everything they say. Very distracting and upsetting for my contacts.

Unplugging and replugging the headset or activating the speakerphone clears the issue temporaraly but it will return after a similar amount of time passes.

Pleas address this issue.

Having the echoing issue here when using the iPhone4S earbuds.  On AT&T in Los Angeles.

I'm also seeing the issue on a 4s from AT&T. Thanks for temporary workaround. Just wanted to add a +1 to the problem.

I've experienced this problem, too. 

I'm having this problem too.  Echo, static, recipient voice sounding really "distant", and call quality degrades until I just have to abort the call.  I left feedback to Apple support, but it appears that even replacement phones are having this issue.  I need a real fix and pronto.  I use this phone as my primary business line.

I have also gotten the echo effect (for the othe party) when using earphones and echo on my own voice when not using any earphones.

Many of us have done that already, problem is we don't hear anything back.  Anyway, just got back from the Apple store and they said a fix for this IS in the iOS 5.0.1 update that is in beta now.  He seemed to think it would be out in the next couple of weeks.

I've tried 3 different brands of headsets now and still the same thing when making or receiving a call, surely this is something Apple would have picked up on during testing...?

Yeah, I'm going to go with the Genius at the Apple Store who just looked it up on his computer an hour ago and said it is acknowledged and will be part of the 5.0.1 fix.

also having the same problem, except the echo occurs i speak directly on the handset -- and all people i've spoken with during echo have noted they hear the difference. have not tried with headset.
