I have Firefly Media Server running on a Windows Home Server. All of the machines running iTunes 10.5 can't access this service. I just get Loading Firefly Media Server. 10.4 works fine, which convinces me the problem is with iTunes. Anyone have a solution?

I have same problem with my Iomega StorCenter ix2-200 with iTunes 10.5. As you said iTunes 10.4 works well. So the problem seems like is with iTunes.

Unfortunately, it seems that this is a cross-platform problem between iTunes 10.5 and all NAS disks. Shared libraries on network drives worked fine under 10.4.1, but now there is just an endless loading cycle with no error message or time-out. There is a bit more about it in this thread.

Thanks for the prompt response. I hope Apple fixes this; it seems like they have done this at least once before. I hope they are not trying to force us to Home Sharing.
Thanks for responding, and referencing the link. I hope Apple will fix this for us; it seems like it affects many people. I thought this was unique to my Firefly Media Server / Windows Home Server lash-up.

It has a patch, and you will need to recompile mt-daapd and reinstall, but then it works fine again with iTunes 10.5
try itunes 10.5.1 (fixed the problem for me)
