Siri locked me out of my phone and is saying "DF" or "DDF" when i enter my passcode. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

Just got my phone, never tried out siri, then when i checked my phone siri started talking to me (out of no where) and said "screen locked, enter passcode." When i entered it, siri said "DF" or "DDF" then would not unlock my phone. What does this mean/ how can i get on my phone?

SIMPLE SOLUTION. I had the exact same problem. Hit the home button 4 times. Siri turns off and you can enter your passcode.

Apple told me to restore but I couldn't because it was locked. I found that solution here in the Iphone communitiy.

I had this exact issue and Sprint could not help. You have 2 choices.

1. If you have synced before the issue, you can choose restore from iTunes when you plug your phone to your PC or MAC and that will reset everything for you. Once you do this, turn off Voice Command though Siri can still be on which is OK. Then turn off Siri from the Home button to prevent this as well as better secure access to your phone.

2. Patiently tap each field of the password once, then 2ce; tap the first number of your password sequence once, then twice to fill each field until you enter all 4 characters of your password. The Home screen will unlock. Then go to settings and follow instructions in step 1 above.

What happens is Voice over requires using disability features so you have to swipe the screen using 3 fingers to move the screen and double-tapping each option in order to use it.

Voila, you have your phone back. I was able to resolve mine with these steps with help from my teenage son. Very painful experience!

Thanks to everyone who responded to my post 🙂 This is my first iPhone so I was panicking - didn't know what was wrong with it. I actually ended up going to an Apple Store for a factory reset, they booked it for me when I called tech support (the CSR told me which stores were closest and accomodated my work schedule) and at the store they were REALLY busy but super helpful and pretty fast.

The best part was when I got home and plugged my iphone into my Mac, all my contacts were restored from my Mac address book - gotta love the Mac!!

Siri the idiot that it is reads out what ever you type. So "DF or DDF" is because your passcode has 33 or 333.

The solve for this stupid locking that occurs intermitently is "double tapping" each character in your passcode.

By "tapping", I mean "hard tapping" and not just soft touch. "dobl" means twice. Once you unlock make sure you go and turn "Off" the Setup->General->Accessibility->VoiceOver.

This will prevent future such event.

As I said the "S" in 4S stands for "Sh..", all hype and the cool image, lacks useful integrated functionality.

This doesn't work because Itunes cannot sync my iphone because it is locked, and I cannot unlock it because Siri keeps repeating my passcode and I cannot type it into the fields. There was another post which explained how to get around that by tapping the key and then quickly tapping twice somewhere else on the screen - after much frustration I could unlock the phone - BUT once I have the home screen, nothing responds properly. After half an hour of tapping and trying different things I finally got to Settings>General>Accessibility>Turn off voiceover and it showed as being off, but nothing changed. So went thru rebooting, struggling to get past the unlock screen and back into the phone, and although once I was able to get back to the Voiceover setting (which still showed off) but wasnt off!!! I think my phone is possessed...
