10.7.2 Keychain "Unknown" Login Entries

I am having the same problem on all my macs (4). The ubiquity log file is also showing something is wrong.

How do I find the related information?

Thanks for the link. After reading the thread I realize others have bigger problems than me (unfortunately for the them). My ubiquity.log gives a error report every 15 minutes, something about a " ubd-main-loop save_local_state:5772 Not saving identity" . After informing me at login that " peer-to-peer syncing won't work with mobile me" . There is nothing except errors in the log.

I only have 3 untrusted keychains and the number has been stable the last week. I also have one unknown keychain which expires ???. The activity monitor shows 0% voor ubd (although it sometimes goes up a few %).

The apple advisor also advised me to trust the untrusted keychains and not to worry about the errors (which I do because they aren't there for nothing). I suppose I could delete the unknown keychain, but I don't know if I shall do this as I don't really know what it is doing.

Drag and drop the certificates on the desktop, then double click on them and accept you trust them.

It's part if the iCloud Doucment syncing system. Apple internally calls it "Ubiquity" which is the ubd process.

The keychain items you are seeing are the peer-to-peer keys that are setup so that devices on the same network (Macs, iOS devices) can send their iCloud documents directly to each other instead of routing up to the 'Cloud' and then back down to a device that is sitting on the same physical network. Save bandwitch, faster, etc..

It appears that this peer-to-peer system is currenty not working correctly, hence the error logs. I think this is a widespread issue and not something you have to worry about trying to fix.

The entries you are referring to are likely normal and nothing to worry about.

Next time something pops up you are unsure of you can search google for the most likely occurring string which in this case is "com.apple.ubiquity.peer" The number at the end changes by device, user, or in some cases services.

You can usually search the developers documentation and find a lot of information to help you understand where something is coming from or what it's attributed to. (Which is where I found the link above).
