Missing edit button in iPhone contacts

I am also facing the same problem after updating the iOS 5. Edit button appears only for favorite contacts.

My edit button is missing after my upgrade too. Did anyone figure out how to fix this? I have gone into every setting I can think of.

Also, I am getting double calendar events for all my things that repeat everyweek. So, it is listing everything 2 tims in a row. I have gone in and turned off my gmail calendar to hide all and it fixed it, but now today it is doing it again and the settings in my calendar are not checked twice like they were yesterday.

I do not like the problems from this new upgrade.

Settings>iCloud>Contacts>On...see if you can edit now...if so, you can go back into Settings & turn this off, if you like.

I do not want to turn on icloud at all. I do not want to screw up my phone. I have no desire for icloud. I am going into a one to one class for them to show me how to get this stupid mandatory icloud crap off my phone. thank you for trying to help me.

I agree!! Should not "have to" use cloud for basic edit feature!! Apple, give it back please. Get a 5.1 release out ASAP.

I got some problem contacts has no edit button any more,go to settings -icloud-turn contacts on it will ask to merge say yes and contacts will be like before .I did its now ok

for the issue with the edit button you have to restore your device back to factory settings and put IOS 5 software back on like as if you just start it.

I dont think I should have to upload my personal contacts to the icloud server, just to be allowed to edit or delete a contact on my phone. turning on icloud merges my contacts to icloud. Name one phone that stores contacts that you have to alow access to your personal info to edit it. I dont believe this to be a over site on Apples part you have to delete script to cause the edit button to not be there, so this is most likely on purpose to get you to upload your contacts to there server.
