iOS 5 slowing down first-gen iPad? FIFA12

Hey guys and girls.

I'm relatively happy with iOS5 on my first gen ipad. Split keyboard is nice, iMessages too. But I've noticed one issue which is getting annoying. I recently got the FIFA12 game by EA and it ran very well. But after upgrading to iOS5, it is getting considerably slower on graphic-heavy situations. Like stadium lights and shadows at the end of the field.

Has anyone else noticed iOS5 slowing down first generation iPads? Not only talking about FIFA 12 but maybe other games and apps as well?

Hey there,

I've got a similar problem with FIFA 12. It runs much slower on iOS5 than before the OS-upgrade...

Hi I have an iPad 1 and after updating to iOS5. Whenever I open movies it opens with generic icons and then takes about 20 seconds to load the proper art work. Dose anyone now why and if so can it be stoped

I've noticed considerable slowdown and lag while playing Brickshooter and Call Of Atlantis since switching to ios 5. Very annoying. Does anybody know how to remedy this, or must we just wait for an update?

I have a first generation iPad. I've noticed a considerable slowdown after updating to iOS5 even in Safari. Tabs take several seconds to close. Typing an address in the URL bar also takes several seconds.

Hi thanks for the link. I tried it but this doesn't seem to have cured the time lags on my iPad 1.

Im still having to Waite for movies to load before I can watch them. And the over all speed seams

To still be slower than it was before updating.

Hey Guys,

I know this may not solve you're problems or make me all that popular, but 1), you gotta give the developers a bit of time to update and 2), what you are experiencing is common with first adopters. On older devices it makes a lot of sense to wait until the first update. By then you will know the issues and any Apple fixes.

I've noticed lag not only on typing actions, but click-to-open time for the apps too. Also apps have been crashing a lot. Looks like I'm running Windows Vista on my Ipad 1st gen.

Sorry but I cannot agree with you. IOS5 works very well on my older 3GS phone and 3GS has the same amount of RAM 256MB and even a lower CPU, so I do not understand why the iPad 1st is working like crap on ios5.

Hi

Havn't played FIFA 12 for a while on my ipad1, not since upgrading to ios5, and really surprised by how slow it's become, unrecognisable from when i first downloaded and completely ruins the game. Really disappointing.

Anyone have a solution to speed things up back to how they were?
