So you've failed to use the iPhone as designed and sync the contacts with a supported application or cloud service? 400+ business contacts... what would you do if the device were lost or stolen? Do you close up shop at that point because you've failed to manage your contacts???? This certainly is no way to run a business or manage one's personal devices.

Not very helpful.
If you had read the question properly I did back up on my computer and i cloud but somehow when my son opened a new account everything was deleted from mine.
thought this website was for helpful advice not for negativity, so next time think?

Creating a new account, either on the computer or for iCloud would have no affect on the contacts.
If they are in fact synced to a supported application or cloud service, simply re-sync them to the device.
