My iphone 4S has turned itself off 3 times in the last 12 hours. Has anyone else had this problem?

Nothing on mine which has been on for 18 hours, then on charge for 8, then on for a further 6 and no turn off.
Could it be a didgy app?
Just took my 4s out of my pocket to realise it was off, would not power on I had to hold power and home button to get it to come back on :/

the same thing is happening to me. about 5 times so far since friday night. very strange. i thought at first it was the inside of my pocket hitting the power button for too long, but now i've caught it restarting twice just sitting on my desk. it was not synching or plugged in. this is all very strange and annoying should i be in the middle of something when it decides to turn off randomly.
i wonder what the cause is and i wonder what the fix is. is it harware or software?
5 times to me so far as well. I tried doing a full restore, but still happens.
