We are all trying to understand this. Make sure the computer is on, and that itunes is up and running. I just ran a test, and i find that the computer has to be awake.
Sit in front of you computer, and on your phone or pad, go to settings, general, wifi sync. Below the text about what it is supposed to do is a button that says sync now. Push it, and see if your computer responds.
In my case, if the computer was asleep, noting happens. The phone says 'looking for mac' and ultimately just stops looking, and the last sync time shown on the phone is unchanged.
If the computer is awake, when i push the button, the i tunes progess bar starts up, and the normal steps happen. The last sync message ln the phone also not shws the new sync time.
So it works. What i do not understand is if this happens automatically, or if you need to specifically trigger the sync each time.

Thanks, I tried it and it still shows that it will sync when the computer is available, and will not let me push the sync now button. However, once I connected the iPad to the computer with the cord it let me push the sync now button on the iPad, obviously not working as intended if I still ave to connect.....
