Hi there - I also have a 2010 Honda CRV with installed bluetooth. On Friday, I picked up the new iphone 4S and it  wouldn't pair to the CRV even though I had divorced it from my old phone (a RAZR). After trying unsuccesfully to pair it on Friday (it just kept spinning and reading "now discoverable"), I called the dealership where I got my honda on Saturday. They put me in touch with an affiliated company who does all the installations of the bluetooth. The person I spoke with told me to do a complete reset on the unit (mine is an Advent), which basically means holding down the hangup button on the dash until you hear a strange sound (it's unmistakable). I did that and then tried pairing my iphone 4s again. This time, it found it without a hitch. (Oh, it did ask for a passcode, so I just entered 1234 and it worked.) Had that not worked, the person I spoke with told me that I could also come in and get the software module on the bluetooth updated (he wasn't going to charge me for this). Luckily, the first method worked for me. Give it a whirl, and if not, call a Honda dealership and see if they can connect you with a company that installs the bluetooth for them so you can get the unit updated. Good luck!

Just bought my iphone 4s yesterday and the bluetooth will not connect to my macbook pro. Even apple can't get it's own products to work together?

Im on ios5.1 and the ipone 4s wont even BT with another iphone 4s or the jawbone 2 headset. Previous iphone 4 did not have a problem

My mb pro (Lion) bluetooth detects my iPhone 4s, and the MacBook Pro is discoverable.

But the iPhone will not connect to the MacBook Pro. Yes, Apple, please address a widespread problem.

my iphone 4S will not pair with my 2010 Mini Cooper Clubman, it only worked the first day and not ever since. never had this problem with my old iphone 3G, very frustrating!! hope apple fix this problem asap!

just restored my phone and pairing to the car was successful! i then sync the apps, songs...etc fresh as suggested (not from backup) and it still paired, yeah!

Same sh*t, similar wrapping. Both my MacMini and brand new iPhone 4S (received yesterday) obviously detect each other via bluetooth as the MacMini finds the phone and gives a code to type in. The same code is displayed on the iPhone and I get the option to click "pair". However, the iPhone says that the MacMini is not supported or is not compatible. Mac OS is 10.6.8. The MacMini and our old MacBookPro pair with every other device or phone in the household without problems. Come on Apple! I have had various Macs since 1991 and love them. Just got my very first iPhone ever and didn't expect this!

Yes, I'm experiencing similar issues. I just purchase the iPhone4s on Sprint, and I have been able to sync my bluetooth to my vehicle (2011 Chevy EquinoxLTZ) but I'm not able to sync it to my MacBook Pro. I recently upgrade to LION on my MacBook, so I'm not sure if that's the issue? At one point it allowed me to PAIR my phone to my MacBook, but then it won't let me connect. I know this isn't suppose to happen, and I can see its obviously a widespread issue. Please fix Apple!

No, Lion cannot be the issue as we're on Snow Leopard and cannot connect.

Ok....I was having similar issues with both my Ipad2 and my MBPro so I went into the store and talked to a "Genius" @ the bar. Here is what i found out and it makes complete sence but I am not happy about it. Bluetooth on the Iphone is now primarily for connecting to bluetooth audio devices ie. Headsets and speakers. It will no longer connect with other computers out side of use as a hotspot. That is what the CLOUD is for. Bluetooth on the Iphone is no longer used for transfering of files. Thats all cloud computing now.

As for the Connection to IPAD or any MB or MBPro MAC Air...etc....you must first contact your service provider to have them turn the wifi hotspot feature on. This of course will cost a monthly service fee which I think is BS considering most of us already have a data plan. This is a feature that the Droid does without having to resort to contacting your service provider. Tethering should be standard on all Iphones!!! Otherwise Jailbreak your phone and you can get it for free. Which in MHO I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO DO!!!!!!

Just got the 4S last week, paired up perfectly with my 2009 BMW iDrive system, but having issues with my Smith Bluetooth snowboard helmet. The helmet will pair and say connected, but when I try to play music.. It disconnects and says "searching".. ***.. Just bought this $325.00 helmet and want to use it.. I hope you guys at Apple can fix this BT issue. Also tried to pair the helmet with my iPad 2 and same issue, also tried to pair the 4Swith my MBP..still a no go.

Me too.  No pairing with Bluetooth to any devices, ESP. 2010 highlander hybrid.  Very annoying.

FINALLY GOT IT TO WORK!  I upgraded my iPhone 3GS earlier this week to the iPhone 4S and tried to pair it to the Bluetooth in my 2011 Mercedes E550 coupe.  I never had any problems with the 3GS but the 4S (iOS 5.1) just kept searching and searching.  The vehicle BT would locate the phone and would disply the name on the navigation screen as expected.  However, like everyone else the phone just kept reading "now discoverable" and spinning.  I tried removing the 3GS from the vehicle BT and then connecting the 4S and that did not work either.

What finally worked for me was when I was prompted with the PIN screen on my vehicle BT.  I simply entered a PIN of 1234 and it accepted it.  This triggered the phone to display the PIN screen as well.  I entered the same PIN and it also accepted it and within a few seconds the pairing was completed.  I have tried at least 5 times since then and it works each and every time.  Phone calls and streaming music work perfectly.

Looks like the issue is the new interface has to be triggered or prompted by the BT device for it to pair.  Essentially I tricked the iPhone into giving me the prompts to pair the phone to the vehicle BT properly.  I hope this works for everyone!

Well, there you have it. Problem solved. I'm just glad there's a legitimate reason for all this. I hate taking back products to the store because of defects. I can live with that, and I prefer using iCloud for everything its meant for. Thanks for sharing the information.

Jusy to advise that I had the same problem pairing to a 2010 Mercedes E350, the car would not see the Iphone 4S (no issue with iphone 4)

Solution is to reset the system (Comand / Settings / Reset) but be aware that you will lose all Sat Nav / Radio settings as well.

    Now works anyway :-)
