Iwas wondering if with the older versionUSB,if I buy any IPOD will it work?

I currently have the 1.1 USB version, if I buy an IPOD video or Nano, will it still work on it, or is there alot of problems with it, thanks

Asus, Windows XP Pro

It will work, but it is sooooo sloooooww. Get yourself a PCI-USB2.0 card. I got one at Circuit city for $30 - works great! Here's a link: http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/TechGear-USB-2-0-2-Port-PCI-Card-GBR-102-/sem/rps m/oid/124392/catOid/-13011/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do

There are other ones too for less money, but the one above was recommended to me by a friend who had problems with the cheaper Iomega card.

I ask these two questions ,because I want to be sure that when I buy it, that i wont have any of those problems, the USB 2.0 version, I guess I can buy it, and even with the 1.1, even if its slow, im patient.

But I am more concerned with the Service Pack 2 reuirement and I dont like the Service Pack 2, cause like I said, i always get stupid problems with it and bugs that I never had in the original Windows XP Pro

I have the same problem. I have Windows ME.

My advice is to buy and see if it works...if it doesn't just return it as long as you can return it and get your money back.

Also, I'm not sure but you might have to buy another USB cable...I personally don't know if a USB 2.0 cable will work on a 1.1 port like you have.

Than again, maybe there is no such thing as a 2.0 cable and a 1.1 cable...maybe there is just one type of cable available...I have no idea.
