Vizio 42" HDTV 1080P

Can anyone help me out? I have a 42" Vizio HDTV 1080P tv that I had bought an apple tv for. The problem im having is that the tv is saying no signal. So I just bought an HDMI cable that plugs to my Iphone, but now when I try to play my movies on my phone my phone is telling me that the display can't play protected movies. Can anyone help cause this is frustrating me?

I was able to watch AppleTV - just change the HDMI input - using the Vizio remote control. That switched between HDMI 1 - and HDMI 2, and 3. (Comcast is my cable provider.) I have one HDMI cable from the HD TV cable box, and another from my Apple TV. Just note with input to the TV is which and when your Apple TV is on - it should connect without effort. I have not tried using my iPhone

Well this is what happens. I plug the hdmi plug from the apple tv to the hdmi 1 plug in on back of tv. I switch the tv with the remote to hdmi 1. It says retrieving data and then it says no signal on tv. This Vizio tv is an HDTV, hdmi, 1070p tv. I have a 750n router that I have running off of my computer that is running windows 7. I don't know why this tv does not want to work because under the requirements of the apple tv it has Vizio listed on it. Would you know what the problem could be?

Please confirm that your Apple TV is on. I know it sounds silly. Use the remote and hit menu. A small white led should light up on the front - and STAY lit.

Winsotn - yes the 42" 1080p Vizio supports 720 and HDCP (I have the same TV).

The Vizio should perform fine but your ATV unit must be turned on with the remote it will not "auto-on" when you switch the TV to it's input.

If this does not work, try plugging your ATV HDMI into the port where you have comcast (just to make sure it's not a bad HDMI port!)

IF the ATV is on, and in a port on your TV that works.... THEN the problem is either a bad HDMI cable or the ATV.

So... try the cable that your comcast box is using (I believe it's the same Mini-HDMI to HDMI style cable....) if you still get no results - you need to talk to Apple about your unit.

This is happening to me as well. I have the Vizio M420SV model (supports 720p, 1080p). The first time I go to the ATV2 input on the TV all is good, but once the ATV2 goes into standby or the screensaver comes on hitting any button on the remote will cause the screen to go black and then looks like the ATV2 is trying to reconnect to the wireless network. After trying a bit get the 'retrieving data'... and then 'no siginal' as well.

After unplugging the ATV2 power cord and plugging back in all is well again until the next screensaver or standby. I plan on changing to a wired connection tonight to see if that changes anything. Are you using wireless or wired internet connection?
