Same problem with my Clarion FZ 709 after upgrading to iOS 5. Before this upgrade all works fine. Its no problem with the new iPhone 4s, its a problem with iOS 5. I could re-produce this problem with the new 4s and the older iPhone 4. Both are running iOS 5 and are still not longer able to connect via Bluetooth. After initial pairing the connection get broken after a few seconds. Yesterday i have upgraded both devices to 5.0.1 but the problem is still not fixed. From Clarion i got the feedback that they are not able to fix this issue because it seems that the problem depends on a change by Apple done within the new iOS. So hopefully Apple will recognize this problem and deliver a bug fix within the next iOS upgrade.

I have never had Bluetooth issues with my BMW until I purchased the 4S....even my wife's iphone4 with the ios5 upgrade works in it so i don't think the bug is there. For me it is the phone.

This essentially makes my phone useless to me....should I just send my traffic fines to apple every time I get pinged for holding my phone while driving.

The phone and car connect to each other but audio goes missing so what's the point.?

What a waste of money!

My 3GS paired just fine after the upgrade to 5.0 but after upgrading yesterday to 5.01 it will no longer pair. The car sees the phone but the connection fails. I am ready to pull my hair out (especially since this upgrade basically turned my phone into a brick. I finally had to set it up as a new phone rahter than restore from backup so I wasted a lot of time reloading and organizing the phone).

I was really hoping to find a solution by coming here.

I have an iphone 4, just upgraded to OS5 last week (currently at 5.0.1) and since then have had issues with dropping connection to my Ford SMax particularly when playing music from my iphone.

Also getting BT read errors on my car audio system.

I have tried resyncing with the car but this hasn't solved the issue.

Not acceptable Apple - this is clearly a phone issue as it worked great with OS4!

Please resolve this swiftly.

Maybe it's not a bug, but sure it's a software problem only. Clearly Apple does not care about thousands or rather millions of BT users who lost their BT functionality. If BT 4.0 is not compatible with older BT equipment Apple should acknowledge it and make it option for the user to choose which version they NEED to use (not WOULD LIKE to use but NEED to use). Using everyday iPhone, Mac Mini, Macbook, iMac - I LOVE APPLE!

iOS5 has a lot of great features but not to be able to use hands free phone in the car? - here APPLE *****!

I decided to buy another iPhone 4 (with iOS4) to use BT in my car. I will not update to iOS5 until it's BT software works.

Lost connection to my car bluetooth after I replaced my phone due to damage. Gave the insurance company **** and demanded a replacement phone. Now realize that I upgraded to IOS 5 as soon as I got it. Was about to upgrade the second replacement phone when I found this forum. Have quickly unplugged and will not run the upgrade.

Now I can't use iCloud.

Tried to connect an iPhone 4S with iOS 5.0.1 with a iPod 4th generation on iOS 4.3.5 and they are not able to connect, could be an issue of compatibility btw BT 4.0 and BT 2.0.

Let's say I understand the lack in functionality btw Apple products and other manufacturers when it comes to BT pairing btw Apple products this is outrageous.

Hopefully the new iOS 5.1 will solve this issue.
