unable to add printer in Lion 10.7.2

Very strange, but perhaps the latest in my Lion train wreck/disaster experiences...

I can not add my printer to my system. Under the "Print & Scan" preferences, I can not add a Brother networked printer.

I am using a NetComm Modem/Router, running a G network and a useless Apple Airport Extreme BS (2nd generation) that is broadcasting an N only network that nothing using Lion can attach to (or IOS5 for that matter!)

The laser printer is a Brother 4050, has worked flawlessly for 12 months or so under SL, connected by cat5 network cable to back of netcomm modem/router.

All configs remain identical to SL but Lion has killed any network printing. The printer is shared between a couple of macs on my home network.

When I look at my netwok with Bonjour Browser, I have multiple error messages: "Can't resolve link-local name" but I can't find anything as to how to resolve this.

Any ideas?
