Q: Profile Manager IPhone 4S - "new device"

Dear all,

after I bought my new IPhone 4S, I tried to enroll the device via "https://server.xxxxx.xx/mydevices". The certificates installed successfully, but the device is shown in the profile manager as "new device". My profile manager is working as I don't have any issues with my other devices (Ipad / Macbook).

Did somebody else encountered this issue?

Thanks in advance

Marc

Unfortunately, I'm having the same issues but a server restart has not corrected the problem.  Anyone have a tip or solution to this?

If you Restored your Settings after update ot ios5 - it will show you New Device - my solution was after update to ios5 or 5.0.1 to set up as New iPhone.

I found a solution. Installed new phone sim card in the old iphone4 and now i can see all info for the new iphone4s.

Perhaps i had the issue because was shared the info for the same sim phone sim card on both devices.

Once i install the enrollment profile I can see the device's name in Profile Manager but and then it changes to "New Device". I am deploying 600 ipads and nothing seems to be working about he enrollment part. Can somebody help?

If your devices have SIM cards fitted that's probibly what's causing your problem

For some reason apple grabs the SIM card info and ties it to the device

Removing the device doesn't seem to remove the SIM card info

Hence the "new device" and being unable to push settings to the newly enrolled

device with the old SIM card fitted

The SIM card info has to be removed from the MDM DB manually

I'm not sure if the latest osx server updates fix this behavior

See this post on how to remove the SIM card details
