Nov 2, 2011 1:03 PM in response to dnairby dnair,More troubleshooting stuff.
The find my phone function via icloud.com does not see my ip4 after the phone goes into sleep mode. However, ipads (in sleep mode) are still located?? Any Apple engineers can explain this??
Is this a network issue as the ip4 is not getting pinged??

Nov 3, 2011 8:50 AM in response to dnairby Gius76,iphone 4, updated to iOS5, and my MobileMe email has stopped working in push...
It caused to me even some mess with people who supposed me to have already read some urgent emails, and I wasted a lot of time to check all possible settings changed... It reminded me of Microsoft user(un)friendly stuff...
It gets me angry cause it looks like it's not a (forgivable) bug, but a very stupid idea to save battery...
Please Apple, fix it!

Nov 3, 2011 8:54 AM in response to Gius76by dnair,Just switched to a new microsim card this a.m. All mail pushing to IP4 now together with ipads and imac.
Will keep posted. Could the migration to icloud have messed up network settings?
Fingers crossed!

Nov 3, 2011 11:36 AM in response to Rich5481by Starstreak007,I really hope so. I didn't see this issue as one of the things the .01 patch is fixing, but I'm crossing my fingers.
Btw, I stand corrected. I did get some mail even with the mail program closed. Not by fetch, just that some time later, mail would come in.

Nov 3, 2011 8:36 PM in response to marcwiegelmannby lsjrlsjr,Just got off of yet another Chat with Apple Support. The rep I spoke with had me do the following...
Go into Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Advanced...turn ALL to FETCH
Go into Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Fetch New Data...turn Push OFF.
Reboot Phone...Home/Power button held down at the same time.
Go back into Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Fetch New Data...turn Push ON. Leave Advanced set to Fetch.
Sent myself a Test e-mail from my MacBook Pro Mac Mail withOUT Mail open OR running in the background on the iPhone.
The message arrived almost immediately.
This is the first time I've received a 'solution' from ANYONE. I'm really hoping it's not a temporary fix.
The rep's name was Jason and he told me he set up his iPhone the same way. Also told me I could take the credit when posting in the forums to help others but I assured him I wouldn't. :-)
Hope it works for all of us having trouble since moving over from MobileMe to iCloud.

Nov 3, 2011 9:12 PM in response to lsjrlsjrby Starstreak007,That didn't work for me.
As long as I have the mail app open in background, at least I can get my pushed mail to the phone. I hope Apple fixes this in the 1st patch. Btw, calendar also has this issue. where if something updates in the cloud, it won't push to the iphone. (As I said before, but many people aren't going back in the msgs)

Nov 3, 2011 9:21 PM in response to Starstreak007by lsjrlsjr,Darn! Sorry to hear that. So far, mine is still working. Just not sure how long it'll last. There are definitely lots of posts about the issue in forums, on Twitter, blogs, etc.
I'm assuming APPLE reads these posts and hopefully the issue is something that is known at 'higher levels'.
Maybe you can contact Support also? The more they hear of it, the better I would think. Unfortunately, there isn't the CHAT option available for iCloud so I went thru MobileMe instead.

Nov 3, 2011 11:47 PM in response to lsjrlsjrby cflowers81,That is a roundabout way of just setting your email accounts to fetch rather then push! If you only turn push on but leave each accounts advanced setting as fetch, then mail for those accounts won't be pushed instantly, just fetched as per your interval setting.
Fix, obviously, did nothing for me, as it's not a fix at all sadly. Setting to fetch is not a fix to the issue, just a way to get by till they do fix it.

Nov 3, 2011 11:48 PM in response to Rich5481by Tim Lorenzen,I found out you don't even have to reset the iPhone to make push work again. Just go to Settings > iCloud and turn Mail off, then on again. Now open the Mail app once and let it check for new mail. After that, any further mails will push.
However, for me this is only a temporary fix - the bug will strike again after a few hours and you'll have to repeat the procedure... Hopefully an update will be out soon.

Nov 3, 2011 11:56 PM in response to Tim Lorenzenby lsjrlsjr,That's what I said to him also.
I've got PUSH set to ON and then under ADVANCED all is set to FETCH. For some reason, mail is arriving to my MacBook Pro Mac Mail and my iPhone Mail at the same time now....or within seconds of each other. So it's working somehow. Doesn't make sense to me either but it's not FETCHING at the intervals I have it set to for my POP accounts.
I don't know...

Nov 4, 2011 3:18 AM in response to marcwiegelmannby Christian Roux, someone, with ios developer account, can test this issue with ios 5.0.1?

Nov 4, 2011 5:16 AM in response to Christian Rouxby matthiasfrombraunschweig,Some developer (in Germany) say, push works with 5.0.1 perfectly.
I'm waiting for the update ...
