Nov 14, 2011 11:36 PM in response to marcwiegelmannby david_zgz,Hello.
I had the same problem with my mail account @me.com and push notifications. With a 3GS phone and after upgrading to IOS 5.0 does not work on me.
But a few days ago I have no problems. The solution: upgrade to IOS 5.0.1 by iTunes, downloading the full software, and not by the OTA update.
Greetings.

Nov 15, 2011 8:17 AM in response to BostonJ81by steve3948,Well I thought it was all working well after the 5.01 update and having to add my account after it was removed on reboot.
However its still hit and miss, today its not pushing much at all, and I am back to 5.0 days having to check every time I think about it.
I wonder if this is as good as it gets, now that everyones on iCloud and my old MobileMe accounts ends next June.

Nov 15, 2011 8:36 AM in response to steve3948by Cynthia Delmar,It's still early days, don't give up hope yet! This issue isn't even making it into the tech press, unlike the battery failure problem. It would be nice if Apple would acknowledge that they are working on fixing this issue, but we probably won't know for sure until the next bug fix is released.
This is something that is damned inconvenient, but the work-around is just a matter of checking for your mail. The battery problem (which I did not experience) was a much bigger problem -- if you're away from a power source and your battery dies in an hour or two, you're really screwed.
Still... if there's anyone from the media reading this, it wouldn't hurt our feelings if you made mention of this issue!

Nov 15, 2011 10:53 AM in response to Cynthia Delmarby billyqureshi,I've been struggling with battery issues and lack of push over iCloud since iOS 5 and iOS 5.0.1 didn't help.
I've managed to fix my push issues - I deleted the account, hard reset, erased network settings, added the account again and now it's been hours and push is still working perfectly.
Now just need a fix for the dam battery!

Nov 15, 2011 11:02 AM in response to mr.princeby Barry Karlin,Woke up this morning. Difficulty getting mail on MacBook pro. Played around with it but felt not to be responding to connection to server. Out on iPad now and not able to receive mail.
Please help. What's the way to check iCloud status?

Nov 15, 2011 2:17 PM in response to marcwiegelmannby matutemats,Guys, I know you are stressed out but this was meant to happen.
If you remember when Steve presented the new in-iphone software update feature, the demo update that appeared in the keynote of ios 5.0.1 was "fixed email errors", so chill out.
Apple planned our deaths.

Nov 15, 2011 3:11 PM in response to matutematsby cflowers81,I wrote a few pages back that 5.0.1 fixed my issue.
It didn't. It looked like it did, but like so many others, it works for awhile and then goes erratic again.
However, after reading through this thread extensively, what interested me was the hit and miss succession rate for those deleting their account and restarting, then re-adding the account.
So what I did was delete iCloud from my iPhone 4S completely. Then reset the iPhone.
I did the exact same thing on my iPad 2.
Now, I setup iCloud again ONLY ON THE iPHONE 4S. I did NOT set it up on the iPad 2.
Once again, push is working on my iPhone. Hopefully it lasts this time...
I can't help but wonder if those of us having problems, are having the problems because we have iCloud set up on multiple devices?
I'll update if it goes erratic again.

Nov 16, 2011 4:24 PM in response to jmc028by Tcarl1959,It worked! I did step 5 before 4 and didn't reboot the second time.
Thanks for the fix. This has been driving me crazy trying to figure it out.

Nov 29, 2011 8:03 AM in response to david_zgzby lsjrlsjr,PUSH is still only working about 10% of the time for me. And there is still no official comment from APPLE. Really unfortunate.

Nov 30, 2011 9:34 AM in response to lsjrlsjrby nozzer1969,Just to add my name to a growing list. I had no problem with my e-mail pushing to my iPhone 4 prior to moving to iCloud/iOS5 (not sure which is causing the problem). Since going to iCloud/iOS5, e-mail push works only some of the time. Wish I'd stuck with MobileMe until it ran out, hopefully by then the bugs would have been ironed out.
I do wish Apple would be a little more open with its loyal cohorts of users. If they came out and said "we're aware of the problem and rest assured we're working on it" we'd feel so much better.

Dec 2, 2011 9:57 AM in response to marcwiegelmannby downunder0428,I did a hard reset and erased all data on the phone, set up as a new phone, added my apps back and push worked perfectly for the past two weeks!! This morning I checked my phone, no email so clicked on the app and it downloaded 15 email from overnight!!

Dec 2, 2011 1:59 PM in response to dnairby notyou,Oh come on! Please tell me your SJ quality comment was sarcasm. This product has been in the works LONG before he passed or wasn't there on a regular basis.
FWIW, I have had this issue. I have done just about everything one can think of. Toggle Push settings, reset phone and toggle Push back on. Restore as new. Delete and re-enter account. All worked...for a time.
There's just something inconsistent that Apple has to fix on their end. I'm on with Support right now for this issue and guess what happens right in the middle of the call...a message pushed after not working all day.

Dec 5, 2011 6:45 AM in response to marcwiegelmannby mikelondon01,For what its worth... all the above fixes are temporary in my cases and hugely time consuming... the easiest fix that has required the least amount of brain damage has been to simply turn off the push notification and turn it back on... have been doing it daily and have had it working fine since....Am sure apple will come out with fix when they figure it out.
