Dec 5, 2011 7:00 AM in response to mikelondon01by nozzer1969,I have set my devices to Fetch instead of Push and it's working fine. I know this kind of defeats the object but at least I know my mail will get checked every so often.

Dec 8, 2011 12:10 AM in response to dnairby yugalar, the strange thing about this is although my "normal" emails aren't pushing to my iPhone, all the emails from Apple are .......

Dec 8, 2011 11:46 AM in response to marcwiegelmannby WickieWorld,I have to jump on this bandwagon. My iPad 2 still receives push email when upgraded from iOS4 to iOS5. My iPhone 4 has been erratically receiving push email after the iOS4 to iOS5 upgrade. I also found the MobileMe push reliable before and regret upgrading to iOS5/iCloud. I have followed most of the anecdotal steps spelled out from other users in this thread (except for factory resetting the iPhone as I am not willing to lose call logs, TXT history, etc.). I have seen push work for periods of time, but nothing I would bet on. Just my $0.02 that Apple is doing its users a disservice by not acknowledging the issue and by not providing a workable solution.
100% disapointed

Dec 8, 2011 12:09 PM in response to WickieWorldby cflowers81,I was having this problem, I replied several times pages back, but I fixed it for me.
How many having problems have their iCloud email address setup on more then one device?
Because push has been working FLAWLESSLY for me, ever since I disabled my iCloud email account on my iPad and only had it setup on my iPhone. Since then it's been pushing email to me perfectly.

Dec 9, 2011 7:01 AM in response to marcwiegelmannby Dan4308,I just got off a chat with apple support and this procedure has fixed PUSH at least for now. We will see long term?
1. Go into Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Advanced...turn ALL to FETCH
2. Go into Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Fetch New Data...turn Push OFF.
3. Reboot Phone...Home/Power button held down at the same time.
4. When that is done, go back into Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Fetch New Data...turn Push ON. (Leave Advanced set to Fetch.)

Dec 9, 2011 7:16 AM in response to Dan4308by jerryf888,Really, this doesn't fix Push. When you set Advanced to Fetch, all you are doing is falling back to Fetch when Push doesn't work. In other words, this just hides the fact that Push isn't working. But from a practical standpoint, if getting your email as soon as possible is important, then this may be a good compromise. Note that I believe Fetch drains your battery faster than Push, so be careful.
From the Advanced settings page: "If Push is not available, the Fetch schedule will be used."

Dec 9, 2011 7:19 AM in response to WickieWorldby jerryf888,I'm jumping on the bandwagon, too!
I have *exactly* the same situation. My iPad 2 seems to Push flawlessly, while my iPhone 4 works for a while, then stops. A quick hard-reset will get it working again...for a while.
This is definitely familiar. I had exactly the same issue with MobileMe in the early days. MobileMe slowly improved over time...I hope that the same will be true of the iCloud service.

Dec 9, 2011 7:20 AM in response to jerryf888by Dan4308,Well, It has so far in my case. I understand what you are saying with fetch but so far mail is PUSHING immediately not on the fetch schedule. There could be a software "bug"?

Dec 9, 2011 9:08 AM in response to marcwiegelmannby alfredo1,I am one of the original posters to this forum as I had the push issues bugging me since upgrading to iCloud from MobileMe. I must say, that since upgrading to iOS 5.0.1, and doing a clean setup of my mail (deleting everything, rebooting, re-configuring e-mail) Mail has been working flawlessly. I will post all my settings here to compare. Maybe you guys can find something. I've had ZERO issues now for about 3 weeks.
- I have only ONE e-mail account set up, mobileMe.
- on AT&T Network.
- Settings > Notifications : weather, phone, messages, reminders, calendar, stocks and mail set up in notification center.
- Location Services: On
- iCloud: Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, Notes, Docs & Data all set to ON, others OFF
- iCloud > Storage and Backup: iCloud Backup ON
- Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Fetch New Data: PUSH, Fetch - Manually
- Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Fetch New Data > Advanced > iCloud: Schedule - PUSH
- Mail, Contacts, Calendars > iCloud > Account > Advanced Mail > Advanced > S/MIME: Off
These are the settings I have and as I said, it seems to be working flawlessly now after having initial problems after upgrading from 3gs/MobileMe to 4S(32 gb)/iCloud. Try deleting everying, doing a reboot and a clean setup. Also on another note, I only have the email setup on my iPhone and my MacBook. No other iOS device.

Dec 11, 2011 6:58 AM in response to marcwiegelmannby JonKeck,I have exactly the same problem. It is annoying because I often check for email and don't like to have to go into the mail app to get new emails.

Dec 11, 2011 12:54 PM in response to marcwiegelmannby yycBrowncoat,Tossing my hat into this also. I've been having similar problems with iCloud for the last couple of days.
I've tried fiddling with the Fetch & Push settings, but all I've been able to accomplish is to enable Fetch at 15 minute intervals.
Methinks this is an iCloud issue, but what I wonder is why it started recently for some and from the beginning for others.

Dec 14, 2011 2:12 AM in response to marcwiegelmannby rvic74,Same problem for me in France. I was a MobileMe user, and since I switched to iCloud, push doesn't work anymore ! I'm really disappointed !
I fixed the problem for one day, with the special steps (create a new account). After 14 hours, Push didn't work...
Apple, please wake up and fix this problem ! 90% of us have problems with iCloud, and Apple doesn't give news or updates !
Good luck everybody

Dec 14, 2011 2:53 PM in response to rvic74by Jack1976,Same issue here in Toronto....iPhone 4S...
tried forwarding my gmail account to my @me account so I could start to use iCloud email as my primary but the emails never seem to show up...gmail seems to be much more reliable for push email....
dissapointing really considering that Apples system is new and should be very efficient with their new data centre.
Any fixes coming around?
Cheers.
