Feb 16, 2012 7:14 PM in response to Mac1985by Mac1985,To clarify my prior reply, I am having problems with my non-Icloud push email working intermittently. I do not use my ICloud email other than for messages from Apple so I am not aware of any push issues with that account.

Feb 17, 2012 5:38 PM in response to Mac1985by ACC7,Hello everyone, I have a new update.
I have been working with techs (Senior Advisor) in the MobileMe support department. I had been working with one tech that was very responsive, and actually seemed to want to solve the problem. However, he passed me along to yet another tech (Adam). It appears that Adam's role is to brush me off and send me on my way. Sadly, over the past week, I have been exchanging emails with Adam, who says they cannot find the issue, and thus, after 4 months, and after trying to send me to OS support to distract me, Adam says Apple cannot help, and they cannot resolve the Push Email issue.
They claim the issue is device specific, even though they have already replaced my device and I have a 2 month old device. I pressed them to replace my device again, to which they responded they do not have the authority to do. This strikes me as very funny because they approved a new device on a prior occasion.
I happened to be near an Apple store this afternoon and was polite and persistent in requesting a manager. They have once again replaced my device. They set up the phone as new, and not from a backup. They said that if there is any data corruption, if they set it up from the backup, that the bad data could transfer over to the new phone.
While I think the problem is iCloud, for the moment push is working on a brand new, clean phone. I'll keep you updated on how things go. Please keep fighting to get this issue resolved!

Feb 18, 2012 12:31 AM in response to ACC7by iMao,Hard to believe that it has to do something with the device or the backup. I have had mobile me from the beginning and changed my iPhone nearly for about 10 times and always with the same backup... Push was always working! And what's their explanation for all the devices that suddendly stopped pushing???
-
Feb 18, 2012 12:29 PM in response to iMaoby ACC7,I agree with iMao, in the prior post. It's not the device, or the backup, or the settings. Problem is iCloud, but I am going through the motions with Apple.
Push worked for almost 24 hours on my brand new, clean iPhone, but it has stopped pushing again.
Apple keeps telling me it is device specific because they have not been able to reproduce the issue on their end - but this is the second time they have replaced my phone and I have the same problem.
I wonder if I should ask them to replace my device again, until they find one for me that works

!!!!! But seriously! I suspect that there are Some Mysteries in the iCloud, and that this Push Mail issue is one of them! All Clouds are a Young Technology! Apple is Huge and is getting Bigger! I am not surprised when I see contradictions in the advice we get from Apple's Support! And besides Apple Software and Products there are Carriers around the world, with their Software and Hardware! It's amazing that the things work at all, or as well as they do!!!

Feb 18, 2012 12:55 PM in response to ACC7by IH8rust,I have being on this post for a bit......
This works for me and my business partner, we both have 4S Iphones
I had a mobile me account but that makes no difference at this point, now we both have new 4S phones with the same problem as everyone else.
My solution until Apple get the problem rectified
Every time I get mail I have to close the app after I read my mails
For Some users that are not familiar with closing the App here are the instructions
A) When your phone is on the main screen that is showing all your apps double tap the home button ( the one in the bottom of the phone
B) Touch and keep your finger on the mail app button until the mail App is showing a negative sign ( - )
C) Touch the negative sign and your email App will go away
D) Touch the home button again twice to get back to your regular App screen
E) Close the monitor with the upper close button
Push will work again until you get more emails
Then repeat the steps
This as being working for us for 2 months now
may sound like lots of work but after you have done this for a couple of time its not that complicated
Hope this help you out

Feb 18, 2012 4:03 PM in response to iMaoby Jim144,Push stopped working on all four iOS devices in my home today. I doubt very seriously that it's device related. It must be a server issue.
-
Feb 20, 2012 8:22 AM in response to Jim144by Michael Sherman1,I have had issues with iCloud not pushing emails to my iPhone 4 for the past week. When I go to check my mail, it will fetch like it fetches other IMAP or POP email accounts, but then I'll find there are 8 or 9 emails on my iCloud account that were not delivered in a push manner.

Feb 22, 2012 6:00 PM in response to IH8rustby mypianoman,Thanks for your suggestion! This is working for me so far. It's kind of annoying to have to do this extra step. I guess... a better question would be - is there a way to have the mail app be automatically closed upon exiting or switching to another app?
I've been following this thread for many months now and I have the same problem as everyone else here. It's EXTREMELY frustrating and it makes me even more angry when I contact Apple about it and their reponse is either "we've never heard this problem before" or "there is nothing we could do. try to do a complete restore." I have a feeling this is affecting many more people, as not everyone with this problem will be posting here.

Feb 24, 2012 5:18 AM in response to marcsiegertby sbusch,As I told you some posts ago. Since today it becomes real.
Apple stops pushing emails in germany because of a motorola patent violation:
You can find some german infos here:
You can find some instructions on the Apple support pages for german icloud and mobileme user here:

Feb 29, 2012 8:53 AM in response to sbuschby ACC7,I have an update for everyone...
I have yet another tech that has been assigned to my case (I think it's the 4th or 5th tech).
I currently have my phone set to Fetch, as that is the only way I get emails consistently. Apple Techs have advised me to leave the phone on Fetch, and they will be testing my account on several of their devices. They instructed me NOT to open any emails with "Push Test" in the subject line.
I have noticed several test emails from them (about 10) in a short amount of time. I noticed that some of the emails have been opened by them, so I took a peek at those and by reading the content, it appears they are testing the issue on several devices (iPad, iPhone, iTouch, etc.). The other thing I noticed by reading these emails is that it appears they are testing 3G and Wifi separately.
Also, and most importantly, it sounds like Mail has stopped pushing during their testing. Yay! They can no longer deny this issue, and HOPEFULLY they will figure this out and finally come up with a fix!

Feb 29, 2012 10:46 AM in response to ACC7by Harris Edmonton,I have followed this post for months, as I haven't had push on my (4S) or my wife's (4) phone since we upgraded from .me to iCloud. I am deeply disappointed that Apple hasn't addressed this since the issue has been there since October, on this post at least, and hasn't improved since then. I have been a long term (20 years+) fan of Apple's but I have to say the bigger it grows the less impressed I am with the quality of their products.

Feb 29, 2012 11:01 AM in response to stuart thomasby teb,i've been on this thread from the beginning and have taken a more passive approach. I do get push emails but every so often I don't. My passive approach is more to let it self correct or try and reboot the phone. It does end up pushing again (eventually).
There have been more than 100,000,000 iCloud accounts added and if this were hugely widespread there would be a lot more people all complaining about it on line. So, while it is a problem and for some a persistent bug that has to be worked out, I do believe for the vast majority it must be working just fine.
