May 7, 2012 10:24 PM in response to marcwiegelmannby Pinaboy,Well its official everyone, I update my ipad2 to ios5.1.1 this afternoon, and there was no fix for us. In fact it got worse!!!
The workaround of exiting the Mail App completely was working just fine, and push was working from all accounts with it. I upgrade the iOS at 4:30 pm PST, and rebooted the iPad. I have received no emails since. I just opened the email app and I got 10+ emails from hours ago.
This now official ***** for me and I am the unhappy owner of a $700 paperweight.
Apple, SHAME ON YOU!!!

May 7, 2012 10:29 PM in response to marcwiegelmannby Pinaboy,Just noticed Apple is very good at editing my email though...
The word is PLUCKS, but starts with an "S"
Maybe if you payed more attention to the problem, the language used to describe how we feel about the service would be nicer!

May 8, 2012 1:15 PM in response to Pinaboyby Enryx,I've got some news about this last iOS 5.1.1 firmware update.
Yesterday evening I updated my iPhone 4S to the new firmware by WiFi (no iTunes) and after that I notice I loose all my iCloud data !!!
So, BE CAREFUL !
I loose everything, inbox and sent e-mail... There's no backup can help me.
Fortunately I have an iPhone Protection Plan, and I hope Apple Support can restore my data, otherwise I will write a new mail to Mr. Cook about these horrible online services.
I choose iCloud for obvious reasons (everybody knows the meaning of the word 'cloud'), and this is the result...
I will keep informed about this issue.
Enrico

May 9, 2012 3:56 PM in response to marcwiegelmannby from NL,I have a new tip that worked for me since two days now with iOS 5.1.1 and OSX Lion:
Make sure that all devices are synced to iCloud and then delete the iCloud accounts on ALL your devices (for me that were iMac, iPhone and iPad.
Log in to iCloud (web) and verify that you have no devices left (find my iPhone).
Then reinstall the iCloud account on all your devices.
Good luck!

May 9, 2012 4:20 PM in response to from NLby ACC7,An update on my communication with tech at Apple (or shall I say "non" update):
About a month ago I was given instructions on installing a utility app on my phone that would track the activity, to where I was then able to send my phone logs to Apple. This information was supposed to help them to determine when the phone stopped pushing, and why. I have done this and still no news from them.
[I think this is what "lsjrlsjr" of this discussion forum has also done]
I noticed that this past weekend (May 4, 5 & 6) Push was especially terrible. It stopped pushing after almost every single email. The "fix" that usually keeps my phone pushing for a couple of days (closing the Mail app) wasn't effective - that's how bad the problem was for me over the weekend. I sent an email to the tech I have been working with and while he is responsive, all he really does is convey my feedback to the engineers.
I was hopeful that 5.1.1 would help the Push issue, but for me it has not. Has it made a difference for any of you?
As to "NL" above, please update us in a few days and let us know if your fix is still working.

May 9, 2012 5:18 PM in response to ACC7by lsjrlsjr,Still waiting to hear, also. Supposedly the logs were sent but I've yet to get an answer. No difference with 5.1.1 for me.

May 10, 2012 6:18 PM in response to marcwiegelmannby jimmypowder,Actually for me ,the update to 5.11 has made my iCloud push problem worse.
Closing out the mail app seems to be the only solution for now.
Frustrating!!!

Push mail from iCloud is still working fine after 5 days now, while before it did not hold on for one hour on my iPhone and iPad.

May 12, 2012 10:41 AM in response to from NLby Impaler80s,I guess you don't know that's not entirely true. You can't log onto iCloud.com from an iOS device. Only from a computer with a modern web browser. Apple expects you to use the built-in apps for iCloud access.
