Q: Push email does not work (iCloud)

Since the update to icloud the push email does not work anymore. Im only talking about the me.com adress no Yahoo oder other Emails. I didnt changed the Mail settings and pushing mails worked fine before the update to icloud.

 

Example:

When i switched on the phone in the morning the mails i received during the night immediately got pushed to the iphone. That doesnt work anymore. It only receives the mails when i switch to the mail app.

 

Any suggestions anyone?!?

 

Im using newest iOS 5 with an iPhone 4S and migrated my old me.com account to iCloud.

    I use yahoo and exchange, and do not use iCloud mail. Push has not worked properly since October last year.

    I'm an original Mobile Me user and my push mail hasn't worked since I migrated to iCloud! I really can't believe Apple hasn't solved this issue yet, I'm soooo disappointed!! Anyway I'm glad to see that many people have the same problem... I really hope someone will be able to find a solution soon...

    I'm also an original MobileMe user. I can't remember exactly when I migrated, but it's probably 6 mo at least.

     

    However, for me, Push has been working flawlessly up until the last several days. This was long after my update to 5.1.1. There could be a bug in iOS Mail that didn't show up immediately, but that isn't logical given the number of posts here stating it only started the last several days.

     

    My wife's account, which was also migrated from MobileMe, but was not the master account (family member), is getting Push notifications fine on her iPhone. Perhaps the issue is indeed related to their transistion from MobileMe.

    Seems like this a very active thread going on right now.

     

    But yes I would have to agree with the above comment. I think around the same time of the update to 5.1.1

     

    I have a wife that is not the primary account and has not yet been effected.

    I'm not sure how much it has to do with 5.1.1 I've been running that software since its release with no problems. When push wasn't workin usually a simple power cycle would jump start it again. But since may 24th nothing will make it work. While out shopping today I stopped at the apple store. They put my iCloud account on another iPhone in the store. And still no push notifications. They said they coudnt help any further and to continue waiting for the engineers to get back to me after the holiday. So frustrating!!!

    In my case it had nothing to do with 5.1.1. I migrated from MobileMe to iCloud about 6 months ago. It worked all just fine untill last week. Then it suddenly stopped working. At that point I was still on 5.0.1! This weekend I upgraded to 5.1.1 hoping it would solve the problem, but without luck.

    The problem has nothing to do with 5.1.1

    So they put your iCloud on a completely random

    iPhone and That phone would not push??

     

     

    This tells me there is no solution for this problem until

    The Apple engineers fix it on their end .

    Push is also working for my account on my iPad (3). However, I need it on my iPhone and it does not work there for a couple of days now! It really *****.

    thats what they did. they added my icloud email to a floor display iphone 4s and the empoyee sent me an email and whatched that phone do nothing! they also looked at all my settings.Iknew all of them were correct.

    For many of us in this thread the problem seems to have started on May 23 or 24 (I am assuming). I say lets give Apple sometime (especially with the long weekend). That's my 2 cents. I understand for people who have had this issue for a long time now.

     

    I will put my account on my wife's iPhone to see if the email pushes to her device and will report back.

    Push is broken for me as well.  Has not worked for at least a couple days on my 4S and iPad 3. Have tried restore, sign out, etc.  Another former MobileMe user.

    I should add I'm also a former Mobleme me user. But I switched to iCloud the day iOS 5 was releaed.
